I was banned after my "friend" p mod reported me.
I told him that i traded my habbo for runescape cash, and as soon as i pressed enter I knew I'd made a mistake, but as he's my friend i expected nothing bad to happen.
Little did I know he'd put some stupid rule before one of his best friends and report me for "real world item trading".
It's only a 3 day ban, but thats 3 days of membership that I've paid for and 3 days where i planned to get 94 theiving. 2 "black marks" on my account have now ruined my hope of being a player mod so that when I reported people, Jagex would actually listen.
Now the question is: Did I deserve to be banned at all?
Firstly I asked on this forum, quite a while ago, whether this type of trading was legal. Every response said YES.
To make sure of it, I checked the runescape rules. Rule 12 is as follows:
Rule 12 - Real World Item Trading
RuneScape items must only be exchanged for other items/services within the game.
Exchanging RuneScape items for items or other benefits in other online games, real-life money or other real-life benefits is not allowed.
I may just be stupid, but the way I read this is that if you trade YOUR runescape items for something outside the game, you broke the rule. After reading it several times over, I've come to the conclusion that I'm stupid.
If this is against the runescape rules, why does such a forum exist on habbox forum? Why does no one else get banned for it? Why was I told that it was OK to do this?
If it's against the runescape rules I suggest it's taken down before others start getting banned for it.
Callum.

Yes, it is against both Runescape and Habbo rules, though the forum does still allow it... There's an explanation in the Trading forum.

No one else gets banned as i guess they don't tell a player mod that they've been doing such things? :P

Get rid of the forum then?
And yes I was stupid to tell a player mod, but as he's one of my "best friends" I didn't expect him to stab me in the back and put a stupid rule ahead of all his friends.

The forums fine. Habbox takes no responsibility if you get banned or scammed.

Yeah I agree, a rule is a rule, you would have done the same in his postion. You cant have one rule for one person and a rule for all the rest.

It's your fault? a lot of people got banned from this forum because of the same rule. I never traded habbo>rs or whatever because I find it stupid, what's the point of whole game if you can't even make your own gp? kind of pointless and if I did habbo>rs I'd probaly quit rs because I'd get bored.
you can't blame hxf or members for this. Your fault, you didn't read rs rules before..

You know why people don't get banned? Because they keep their mouths shut. And know better then to tell a P-Mod that you were breaking the rules.

A lot of the people posting above are right, just because the p mod is your friend doesn't mean you should expect to be treated any better. If anything, that just makes him a better mod if he doesn't overlook people breaking rules just for his friends.

What do you think, of course its against RS rules. Just be happy it was a 3 day ban not a Perm one.
EDIT: Btw, how do you check how many Black Marks are on your character?

Whenever you get a Black Mark on your account you get a Message sent to you in your Runescape Inbox.

Also "Exactly" too steven's point about not being stupid enough too tell your best friend even if he is a p mod that you break the rules.
I don't even tell my good non- p mod friends

Well your "friend" of your is just pathetic.. it shows that he cares about being a p mod more then being a good friend with someone.
Only one reason he told the p mod.. because he wanted to increase his chances of being one.. but he didin't know that they do not get to choose; if you get my drift.

If his pmod friend had not reported him because of the friendship, it would be unfair, pmod's have to treat everyone the same even there family,
