Well my dad bought the Independant news paper and this saturday and sunday it came with two mini booklets with facts and figures of modern life. Some are really quite funny and amazing so i'd thought ill share some with you guys
Oil ---
At least 39 billion barrels of oil will be pumped from the earth in 2006
In 2005, the cost of crude oil rose from below $45 a barrel to hit a new record above $70
Pets --
It is estimated that britains cats kill 300 million wild birds and mammals every year

Goldfish: 14.7 million
Cats: 7.5 million
Dogs: 6.1 million
Rabbits: 1.1 Million
Hamsters 0.9 million
Budgerigars: 0.75 million
Guinea pigs: 0.7 million

Parking:
British drivers spen 1.6bn (billion i think) on parking fees each year
They also pay 524m in parking fines

Between 1980 and 2001 almost 70,000 crimes were reported involving gross indency with a child or unlawful sexual intercourse with a female child.
Approximately 3,400 paedophiles are currently serving sentences in the UK and 18,000.
Number of education workers listed as s*x offenders who have not been banned from working from schools since 1997: 88 (thats discusting:s )
