Hello everyone.

Me, Dave (From Atomicoxide) and someone called Ash are currently building a radio panel. We aim to be at the top of the radio panel market.

Please can you post ideas? All GOOD ideas will recieve +rep and a free copy of the radio panel when its done. Please do not suggest any of radiopanel.co.uk's one because we have them covered.

Please suggest your ideas. No matter how hard they are we will attempt them ;)

I will give you a +rep for trying however it is NOT a habbo based radiopanel. Timetable is what radiopanel.co.uk so we will have it same with DJ List. And the rest are habbo ones.

I'd suggest some sort of server moving feature that makes it easier if you need to move to another host.

In my Site Panel I'm going to do it - all you need to do would be zip up all the files, make backups of the MySQL/the flat files (dependent on your storage method), and then have a file that unzip the files, copies them to the right places and then restores the MySQL databases.

In the end, it would need to leave a backup.zip and a restore.php, which the user could download via FTP and then upload to the new host and run.

A few ideas from me:

1) Some kind of GD signature, for example, DJ's can create a custom signature for forums they use which includes the name of the radio, their DJ name, the number of current listeners and some song stats. It's not that difficult to do :) I've done it before, but I don't have the code for it anymore - I'm pretty sure you lot can do it though!

2) An idea for Habbo radios - On the DJ profile system, as opposed to taking screenshots of the Habbos for their profiles or having avatars, use the Habbo Imager system to dynamically fetch the images of the DJ's!

An auto DJ System (Kinda like the GMTT Script) With a DJ User so the person browsing the site can send a request (From a song list) and it gets added to a Queue.

How about a system that has :

Pass :

And if you arent booked to DJ soon it removes the pass field so you cant see it?

Ermm...

I liked the idea of an application to use the panel. Someone (including a VB noob like myself) could write an application that simply opened the panel in a window within 2 minutes, or if you wanted a more powerful system you could actually intergrate it and have dialogs for the functions etc.

I personally would also suggest a plugin system, where users and the community can write plugins based on PHP, which have their own extension (.rpp - Radio Panel Plugins), which can be used to extent the whole system and allow for user generated functions - after all, it can only help your panel :)

Nar. I started the easy stuff, ip banning and hostname banning. Im currently waiting till i change servers to proceed with it. The server im on atm lags like hell and takes ages lol.

We're securing it as well as we can. V 1.0 will be pretty basic. All the features etc. Version 1.1 will include stuff like product manager and user system interface w/e

Organised, feel free to nick the ideas, but maybe in your next version you might take interest in CSS and actually encrypt the users passwords.

If you failed to even secure passwords, did you bother to protect it from SQL Injections or cross-site scripting?

As for everyone else, there are some interesting ideas there - all of which will be taken into account.

Unlike Organised our radio panel will be open source, so that you are able to modify it to suit your needs.

All of the best developments are open source, e.g. Windows vs Linux - and we feel that if a user does pay for something they should be able to modify it to suit their needs.

There will also be a free version of the panel, which will contain a lot of features. Infact, what radiopanel has now.

Also what is the point in encoding script into Zend, you can get a program named VLD that gets the op-codes.

Oh, and george you failed in insert "" around Naresh in the if statement and you failed to indent:

Yes, there are advanced mesures to prevent this. All infomation is checked before anything is executed or submitted to the MySQL server.

Yes but it requires alot of brains to actually use the opcodes to decompile the script.

You are correct Organised, indenting does not effect a script - however it makes it structurally correct, and it was a joke.

Regarding open source, Counter Strike is, how else can users make modifications for it? Windows is crap? haven't you realized that yet? Try using Fedora Core, Mandriva, or Tiger OS x.

Then again, radio panel sucks clearly becasue dp_124 mentioned above.
Passwords was not secured, if a simple encrypting passwords was not done how do we know a secure 6 line script hasn't been placed to prevent SQL injections and cross-scripting?

Then, I could technicly build my own radio panel like radio panels for nothing and If anyone wanted a decent radio panel for the same price with features which they want then they only need to ask me. it's part of a package :l

Like a timetable that staff can book slots in and official djs with a staff promotion system that u can promote them how u see fit so they get more or less power on the panel also a news server so people who use ur radio know whats going on and a staff page where u can upload a staff member with there on avatar

When you buy a new radio you have to change the radio details on the site for the radio..... But what if a script in the admin part lets you edit the radio player details.

So say the person who has access to the web control panel is away and one of the other admins get a new radio they dont have to wait for the person to change the radio player details.

i quite like that idea but can it be done?

All you'd need to do is place the details in a database when you set them in the panel, and then when in the page you show the stats, get it to fetch the connection details from the database with PHP :)

New Feature:

The ability to vote DJ's off air.

Allow your users to really choose what they listen too, if they disagree with the music being played they are able to vote the DJ off air.

An events calendar - like a timetable but not used as frequently - the djs or and staff can select a day they want to do an event, name the event and put the time, and it appears on the calendar page of the site.

My idea is a PM system or somthing like that and like a badge thing like bronze silver and gold so when they are on air the badge shows next to there name on the stats and on profile and it changes with how good they are a dj/how much they dj/Listners vote/how long they have been a dj/DJofthe week

My other idea islike a DJ of the week system which is automatic with the votes and resets auto every week changing (or keeping is its the same DJ) the dj

Have a jingles page, were you can download the websites jingles.Maybe a script on the profile page that would have like

-Radio Status: DJ'ing
-Panel Status: Online

So when the DJ logs into the panel there is a button at the top that will say, "I'm On-Air" you click it and it updates the profile.

The biggest problem I see is that there are a few radio panels out there with security holes, and the only one which appears to be secure you have to pay for.

I have nothing against paying for a radio panel, in fact I paid for one on Sunday and I still have no software or response from the company.

Good luck to anyone who wants to try and make a few bob, just dont forget to msg me when you have a product to sell, coz I am on the market to buy...
