At around 1700 GMT, (1900 Local Time I think), white smoke appeared from the Sistine Chapel. This signifys the election of a new pope. Someone who will lead 1 billion Catholics on Earth.

Who will it be. We should find out asap!

They started electing (The Conclave) on Monday. And after about 4 votes, the Pope was chosen. It has to be chosen by at least 2/3 +1 of the vote and can last for weeks. This pope was chosen in 24 hours!

The new pope is:

Although popes have to be relatively old, Pope John Paul was 57 when he was elected. But, as he was Polish, they didn't like that he was anit-Soviet, causing tension between the Church and the Soviets.
Now they want a quick reign where the Pope can't do anything momentuous, and cause an uproar of any kind.

To become pope I 'think' you have to be a specific age, rise through the ranks of the Church etc.

Sovitet alwasy hated resligion, it was seen as a disavatage, and as karl marx put it "the exsticy or the peasnts" In russia most churches were shut down, and the cult of lennin was intriudced which agve more weight to stallins propgand messages.

-black people
-and many more but to much to write.

Yea but very few cristianst take teh church as absoute, and do things commonly whihc under abosult crisnaity would be a sin, all the new popes going to do is make alot of people that were part cristsins as in cristn but dont go to church often etc etc, leave, and dimsih the churches alredy low numbers. There already getting preist in some contrys in erupoe to come over from other places as thers no one interested any more "/
