Firstly, I aint sure if its the right place but anyway..

I want to be a Police officer when I'm older and I've talked to a few teachers and visited the Metropolitan Police website to become a Police Cadet - (voluntary work for I think youngest 14 and oldest 21) and my mentor (helper teacher) has connections everywhere so she said she will hook me up with an interview type thing, but the main question I want to ask is if anyone here is a Police Cadet? If so what is it like? And if you do know any more infomation please reply and I will rep people with good posts.:rolleyes:

The Police Cadets role is to like e.g. Go into a shop and see if they will sell you stuff which they shouldnt such as alchohol (sp?) etc.. Also you get a card n stuff official thingy, uniform etc :p So yeah, stay kl..:)

Yes, my brother is a police cadet. He enjoys it a lot and also like going out to do "test purchasing" (that's trying to buy scratch cards, alcohol etc). The police is a good career to get into. When you're old enough you get given a car, pension scheme and cheap housing.

Also, the starting pay for community support officers is 24k a year so go for it :P

Police cadet is quite fun, Get to go round and nail all the corner shops for selling alchohol (sp?) And lyk, go down to the market and get some man whisper in your ear 'wants some dvds, the latest new ones' and then you get to watch them get nicked :P

Ah, on the website I looked on (the recruitment website) it says 16 - 18

As of 1st January 2006, any citizen can make a citizens arrest (following a change in law which only allowed individuals like security guards etc to make citizens arrests) - providing they are arresting for an indictable offence, like if they are inflicting physical injury on someone else. The law is quite complicated and somewhat unclear as there is a grey area as to what you can arrest for and what force can be used etc.

Can you explane more on what you do and stuff, how often you go out doing purchase test thingy etc and if its fun, any unusual or fun/boring memories etc? Ide love to read.. :)
