Can we have a banned/unbanned sub forum in habbo news? they seem to take up half of the news forum.

When 2 threads are created about the same time could you just merge them instead of locking one? its ok to lock one if its posted much later but put a link on the locked one to the correct thread.

I think it would be a good idea to have a super mod or admin moving threads to more appropriate forums or at least make sure mods actually do it? . i know in the discuss anything its about anything but surely if its about a car it should be in vehicle/transport? if not then you may as well remove the vehicle/transport forum. its the same with random stuff posted in habbo news when really it should be in anything about habbo.
I think people post in the habbo news and discuss anything instead of where it should go because they usually get a better response to their thread.

The above are just examples and not aimed at anybody and im sure if you search my threads i would be guilty of it at some point as well :O

That idea was suggested ages ago. Super Moderators just dont do it. It would be great if they did, but they dont.

perhaps i will have to report each thread that should be in a different forum ;) it would keep them busy.

http://habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=399809 - Should be under Vehicle
http://habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=399616 - Should be under Technical Problems
http://habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=397929 - Should be under Technology Discussion

Just went in the discuss anything forum and found that.
There are way too many breaking the rules. That forum either needs more moderators / or more super moderators need to pay attention in that forum.
I found them on the first 2 pages. They have been there for nearly 10 days. How the hell can Moderators and Super Moderators say they do their job well :S Obviously they dont.

Also I think that these sticky threads in Discuss anything should be under "Advertise your site."

Top 3 Most Visited / Used Sites.
Post your Youtube URLs.
[OFFICIAL] Post your Myspace url.

Maybe change the "Advertise your site" to "Advertise a site here"

Simple solution to this, use the report thread feature.

It's not viable for the Smods and Mods to check through every thread and post on the forum. If you simply report the thread thats in the wrong section it will be moved for you.

My view is that banning and unbanning is not news in anyway, unless its a staff member or very famous habbo. These threads should be reported and they will be moved to a more appropriate section of the forum such as "Bobba" or "Habbo in General".

In the case of multiple threads on the same topic created in a short space of time, these are sometimes merged. It all depends on how many replys are in each thread. Say for example one thread was made with a certain topic, then a second was made 5 minutes later on the same topic, usualy the second thread will have reply's such as:

"Already a thread on this here:...."

or

"Already Posted"

In this case the second thread will be closed, not merged as there are no useful posts on the topic.

Super Moderators don tneed to read the threads. I am sure most super moderators visit the "Discuss Anything" forum. All they have to do is look at the thread title. Thats what I did for the 3 exampled I posted. If not super moderators, then the forum moderators should - otherwise they arent doing their job properly.

I did that, and i belive the thread is still there.
Whats happend there?
Is it just because there a high ranking member of staff?

People can always psot about bans under Bobba section seeing as that's what it's for / if someone popular gets banned they can post it under anything about Habbo , Most people post any thing in the discuss section 'cause they're lazy like me and can't be bothered to find the right section :p
Also usealy you are more likely to get a reply in the discuss anything section.
Tbh make me a Smod so I can moderate all sections :eusa_whis

Actually, we let people post a thread where ever it makes sense even if its not the best place and it has been like this for a year or so.

For example if you want to talk about cars, you can do so in the general forum or in the vehicles forum. Different forums usually have a different audience.

If however a certain forum is filled with threads that would be better off in another forum, they are then moved there.

So I can post about habbo in the discuss anything forum and you wont move it? Well you said I can "discuss anything" there, so I want to discuss habbo xD

I still think MADs comment is contradicting "Discuss Anything"'s forum desc:

Come here to discuss anything not covered by other forums.

Why make a vehicle forum and allow people to post about vehicles somewhere else :S Doesn't the forum rule say "Post in the right forum"?

Bit stupid imo.

I agree to a certain point though Discus Anything is the main forum where you can discuss all area's of outside habbo though there's certain forums for topics which will attract ONLY people who want to know, unlike Discuss Anything where anyone replies.

I do have to agree. they may as well remove the vehicle forum etc if people dont use them? people only post in the discuss anything for a better response but if the threads were moved to the correct forums i would expect them to become much more active.

The rule was changed quite a while ago:

C18. Post in the correct forum - Make sure that the subject of your thread matches the subject of the forum that you are posting in.

I think It was decided that it really didn't warrant all the paperwork to chase up the members and - in fact If I remember rightly it is Sierk's view that it is not up to members to check that they have exactly the right 'forum; as long as they in an area that seems to cover it and a mod can move it. You don't get warned or infracted for it.
I don't think think applies to the trading section though. The Habbo section can be a pain with multiple threads covering the same subject especially if its busy so the mods there have to be on the ball when its busy to merge the threads which is the simplest and tidiest way of doing it.

remove the discuss anything so they choose the correct forums? or they could use the spam? i cant see a point for having the other forums if they dont post there they could just use the discuss anything for everything.
i like to talk about certain things and and think i miss out if its not in the correct forum because i dont always notice the threads elsewhere.

"Already a thread on this here:...."

or

"Already Posted"

I thought posting things like "Already posted" etc was against the forum rules :S

Also as people are posting everything in the Discuss Anything forum like jrh said, the other forums arent as popular.
I noticed alot of threads were posted in Discuss Anything which should be in Vehicle & Transport.
But they aren't, which means Vehicle & Transport forum isn't as popular as it should be.

Tbh, I blame the moderators. If they start moving threads and giving out warning, people will automatically stop posting in the wrong forums.

I was looking at Discuss Anything - Took me 5 minutes and I found all these. You really need better moderators. Also, most of them are over a week old.
http://habboxforum.com/showpost.php?p=3919840&postcount=10 - pointless post

http://habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=398975 - already a thread on it :S
http://habboxforum.com/showpost.php?p=3908894&postcount=12 - pointless post again
http://habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=398916 - already posted in sports forum. so multiple thread on same topic.

I see your point. I will discuss this with the rest of forum management :).

Thanks :).
