Argh help

I know i've posted about this a lot but its really hard.

Ok so basically, i've known this girl for a few years. I see her a lot and she lives at the top of my road. I really like her, the people round my area think i like her but i don't know if she likes me. What i'm afraid of is if she doesn't like me then our friendship is screwed. I see people who have asked their friends out and it works out bad and some great. One of my friends who is like sisters with the girl i like (really good friends) said i should ask her out but then another day after that, she talked about how it ended bad for her and her old bf and said i shouldn't ask her out. So i don't know about that.

If i do decided to ask her out though i would have no idea how to. I haven't really ever asked a girl out and it just seems really hard. I don't have much confidence so i don't think she'll even like me.

I think you should make a HUGE effort to get to know her, I know you already do but I mean get to a point were you are like best friends with her and then when your both comfortable ask her out but when you do dont make a big deal out of it, just ask her if you can have a word with her take her somewhere fairly private (round a corner) and just ask her and if she rejects you just make it seem like your fine if your not and that way you wont lose your friendship.

I always act nice to her, if my mate is going to punch her for a joke, ill just pull him back. Give hints n crap, and generally if shes outside then there is others aswell :(

On msn just now i saw her name and it said "ARGH, fed up with boys likin me!" i didnt know other boys liked her aswell, i mean yeah shes.. fine but i only thought one boy did and she dnt like him... i guess i shouldnt tell her how i feel.

nemo, if you burst out laughing at that, DO THAT. pass it off as a joke, and when u leave or whatever, next day, tell her that you werent joking. excellent way of proposing ;)

yer well im thinkin of askin her at this halloween party at a friends house, so.. maybe then. I saw her today for like a few mins, she looked great :). It just puts down my confidence thinking about if she says no..
