i ent read it yet is it worth itA lot of it is fairly good, it touches a lot of points no one has mentioned and sums it up quite well. It miss's out a few essentials already highlighted, but if they've already been highlighted I guess he didn't need too.

You made me waste mins of my life for that.
I'm not here to start an argument. I'm voicing my opinions, and therefore I don't class your comment as valid but something to start a fight.
If you want a massive debate, and fight over it! then go to a brawl.
Understand the definition of "Forum", before your petty insults. At least reply with a comment that's actually meaningful and valid.

Holy crap!
3 pounds for a phone call! Thats 6.00$ CAD, thats like a full hour of work making minimum wage. lol
There is nothing to suggest that £3 is the lowest fee that you can pay for additional services, there may well be other ways to pay for additional services and at lower costs. Don't forget with things such as Home Telephone payment the company has to pay for the premium number it uses aswell as paying a line rental fee to it's service provider.
ClubTropica may well move on to using different payment methods just like all of the other community sites out there, knowbody leaves all of their egg's in one basket! I would also assume that the final cost would depend on how much the company had to pay for each service, because 9/10 the service provider will always take a percentage of the final transaction.

ClubTropica? I've eared it all now. Personally, I feel that it's just another MMORPG Development that's been quickly brainstormed, then taken in to development on a spur of the moment basis. You may all feel differently opinionated against the way I feel about this MMORPG Development, but that's the entire purpose of a forum right? to debate and discuss. (so I'd respect if Moderators not to delete this post).
The reason why I strongly feel against ClubTropica is that it's nothing original in the context that it'll be a community for multiply users, to socialise within and create perhaps rooms, and purchase furniture to furnish the rooms etc. Yet, the entire purpose of the project is for profits and a source of income, just like Sulake Oy's "Habbo Hotel", another method of taking advantage of venerable pre-teenagers who enjoy communicating with friends over the internet in a false projected environments. When you look in to projects like "Habbo Hotel", you'll tend to notice that it's an addictive game because users tend to feel that they're protected from the real-world in a sense that "I don't need to go out, now I've got Habbo Hotel because they're hundreds of other teenagers to make friends with and play with!". Same scenario with ClubTropica, just promoting to teenagers a falsely projected community based on "Holidays and Vacations" without leaving your door! That's why you tend to see the majority of teenagers in today's society becoming secluded.
Sadly, I've been one of those users who've dwelled on Habbo for sometime, and due to Habbo my social life and education did lack for sometime. However, after overcoming some problems, I managed to grow out of the addiction and fulfil my career and enjoy a "social-life" without having to login to Habbo. I'm not knocking Habbo Hotel, as I still enjoy the community but without the additional needs of having to pay for extra services such as credits, habbo club etc. I understand that those additional services are not mandatory, however you see other users with nicely furnished rooms and you've started a chain reaction. The new user then buys a few credits, thinking that he/she won't require no more! and wala! he/she is addicted to the game, and Sulake's objective has been achieved, they've made a profit and they've made a mascot to continue the trend to other users. (monkey see, monkey do). The other point with the option of purchasing furniture, Habbo state that it's for the upkeep of servers, and local offices. However I'd just like reassure everyone that the profits they receive off users is well over the guided price for the upkeep of servers, but just for wealthy profits. I'm sure it wouldn't touch Sulake's profit if they just perhaps lowered the price of credits by 2%! It would make a large different for users, and no difference to Sulake's upkeep, except the slightly lower profits for they're personal gross profit.
The same scenario applies to the future of ClubTropica's community, the only difference between "Habbo Hotel", and "ClubTropica" is that Habbo Hotel is well established in sixteen or more country's, and that Sulake have achieved they're objectives by far a mile, and can therefore invest in extra developments for forthcoming releases. I believe the revenue for Sulake is more than 4.5million and growing (I'm not exactly sure if it's 4.5 million, I believe it's higher!), even if Sulake was to take a drastic turn and go down hill that I highly doubt, they'd not need to worry as they've got the revenue to keep going! and that the interest from that revenue will grow and that'll cover the costs for the upkeep of Local Offices, Servers, Projects and Staff Wages and other Inventory on the outgoings they must pay for. Sulake at the moment in my eyes are perpetual, and therefore won't need to worry about other competitors. However, on the other hand ClubTropica's have just merely touched the markets service, and no-one knows the outcome of it's community. It may be well prosperous, but just to emphasise something! It's YOU the users who keep these community's going, personally having to pay for additional services IF ClubTropica introduces these premium services such as "credits" perhaps? then I feel it's just another money grabbing community, and that it's ClubTripica's concern to perhaps become a competitor of Sulake! again I can't see this happening as Sulake are reputable, and well established.
It's sad to see that ClubTropica's are using Habbox Forums to advertise there new community, I believe it's rather like trespassing on Sulake's property in a metaphorical way. (even though Habbox isn't operated by Sulake) they're associated with Habbo Hotel as a third party site. Devious as it may seem, ClubTropica's objective is to partly advertise on multiply forums in order to gain publicity, anyone with decent knowledge can see that! It's a recruitment. Personally, I don't think it should be tolerated as any decent new MMORPG Community will gather they're potential members from other sources by freshly advertising, rather than just going to other associated MMORPG Sites, or Fansites in order to get that publicity.
Last but not least, I have been informed by a source that ClubTropica has investors in to the "company", and that you already have "community offices", not only that but I've noticed they've even managed to gather x-sulake staff?. I kind that rather preposterous if it's true, but personally If I was a business man, or entrepreneur and presented with the idea of ClubTropica and doing research on the community and know little about the future of the community then I'd blatantly turn down the offer and invest in something that's more established. It's some ludicrous idea, and to acknowledge that you're going to open three weeks! .. All well, It's not really my duty to comment no more, but I sincerely hope you've done your market research. I can see this community eventually trying to replicate something that we already have, and that's Habbo!
Do you work for Sulake? Your awfully defensive.
Considering Heidi Foster removed Jaeh's Habbo Hroup this morning due to it containing the words ClubTropica and it breaking their Terms & Conditions.
That only lists ONE of the prices. I was making the point that there could well be many other prices which are less than £3!

I am not slating your post, as it is your personal view.
You have actually come across quite mature and can see where some of your views have come from.
But Habbo can't dominate the whole online gaming without any rivals, there are many people who no longer like Habbo such as me, I do not trust them, so any sites like CT I welcome and will have a try at, not that i spend much time on them anymore, it will be good to have a go on.
I do not see the problem with ex-sulake staff working for the, they have the knowledge and the Ideas, they have seen how Habbo runs so they will know what not to do. It will be a positive thing for CT if anything.
just out of curiosity, do you happen to work for Sulake? As i find it very strange how you have registered and the two posts you make is aimed at CT.

i skimmed over what you had to say, some good and valid points.
however, you cannot directly say that they are "advertising" on here, unless andy the thread creator is involved with clubtropica in some way.
some may agree that word of mouth is often the best form of advertisement, as you may have seen theres already nearly 2000 people subscribed to the email update thing, which is a hell of a lot considering the short space of time this thread has been around.
theres no saying that all of those people are from habboxforum. by now world will have spread to a number of people in a variety of ways.
as for your point on sulakes profits etc, so what if they are in it for the money? Sulake overall probably earn a considerable chunk of their income from other companies, brands etc paying to be advertised on the website, as well as other promotions and what not.
If the bosses at Sulake wish to develop further and further, they need to obviously pay for people, software, and other resources in order to do this. the money has to come from somewhere, by now all the investors would be bust if everything habbo offered was free. and nothing had to be paid for.
lets look at some other big, well known companies, should places like McDonals give out free burgers because they only sell them to make a profit?
at the end of the day, like Habbo, like McDonalds, like every other place you can think of, ClubTropica is run as a business, who's purpose is to provide a service, the service(s) provided are irrelevant. Assuming there is going to be a f2p and p2p version, i dont see why you are making such a fuss over it

This thread was obviously made for a reason, it's clever marketing, which worked I suppose. People are speaking about it, and already looking forward to it, 500+ posts in a few days says something.

Yeh Jack i am intrested now,the first 30 threads were no one beliving Callie,Although i didnt know if that user was callie i knew callie and disarno were involved then the other 20 is mostly spam realy but it looks more intresting than Habbo at the momment doing the same thing for a few years is very boring,I will maybe more to their depends if i think its good enough ive heard their phone line but i wont be calling it,As i have relised how crappy online games are i pay for Xbox live because i have a year of unlimited play,I play agaist millions of people i doubt this site will hit over 3000 at the momment although i want it to,People have made fansites when they dont even know whats happning a Fansite is ment to have information that intrests people but whats the point when you can just go onto ClubTropica's site?

I quite like how Club Tropica has got the word about with it being posted on many active forums and sites :) I am sure they will advertise properly but If you saw any advert anywhere and the site was closed when you checked would you go back? they will wait until its open i would expect.
If they treat their members/customers with respect in my opinion they are one up on habbo already.
If anything goes wrong maybe they won't ignore them or fob them off with random excuses and perhaps come out with a statement and/or apology. I am on about normal stuff here like bugs that lose stuff etc and not serious things like people gaining access to things they should'nt.
I dont see a problem with the ex sulake staff and believe they will take the site quite far now they have more of their own input instead of being sulake puppets.
Callie - I did'nt want Justine to become HM back then (fansite issues but nothing really important lol) so it must show how good a manager she was to change my opinion :O After watching the things she did for habbo and looking back after she has gone I believe she was by far the best HM. She did lots we did'nt know about as all HM's do but she was always involved with the habbo's which made the staff and users divide almost vanish. She gave the users so much more input and made the official fansites feel needed (Yes jibbi also did this in her short time of the fansite list), Habbo may as well remove official sites now for how much they bother with them.
Disarno/Elux - I was lucky enough to help along side Elux and in my opinion he was among the top 3 mods at habbo uk, He was in my opinion the quickest mod (only becs competed at speed) and did everything by the book.
For habbo to lose him to Club Tropica it must show they mean business.
Sulake might have reason to be a little worried but only time will tell.
Who will be leaving next? Maybe get some of the player support who now answer emails much faster than before. :eusa_clap
I don't know if I will be a Club Tropica user but from the limited information available it looks like its going to be pretty good.
Any competition to habbo in my opinion is great.

i skimmed over what you had to say, some good and valid points.
however, you cannot directly say that they are "advertising" on here, unless andy the thread creator is involved with clubtropica in some way.
some may agree that word of mouth is often the best form of advertisement, as you may have seen theres already nearly 2000 people subscribed to the email update thing, which is a hell of a lot considering the short space of time this thread has been around.
theres no saying that all of those people are from habboxforum. by now world will have spread to a number of people in a variety of ways.
as for your point on sulakes profits etc, so what if they are in it for the money?
Assuming there is going to be a f2p and p2p version, i dont see why you are making such a fuss over it
I never actually proclaimed that Sulake should offer all services as free, else yes they would loose on profits, I don't believe they'd go bust as they've enough capital. They'd need to pay for the upkeep of local offices, mainframe servers for the emulators, and staff wages. However Sulake are well established, and that reducing profits by a little for users to have slightly cheaper credits wouldn't have a dramatic effect on they're gross profits.
All I was saying in the previous post was emphasising to users that Sulake can often be rather greedy, and that reducing profits by say 2% wouldn't make an infatuating difference to Sulake's main source of income and gross profits. Sulake has many investors, and personally Habbo Hotel is just one source of it's main income. Therefore just lowering credits by 2% for users to have cheaper credits, user's could have more enjoyment by buying more furniture!
I was just emphasising with Habbo Hotel that they do market research professionally by advertising through appropriate methods. For example, you don't see Sulake advertise on third-party MMOPRG sites do you? if they did, then I'd class Sulake as unprofessional and money grabbing gits (pardon the pun) because they won't spend a little to gain more than what they invested. Sulake invest in advertisements, and I'm sure it doesn't come cheap, you see celebrities visit the offices so it's proclaimed and so forth.
ClubTropica on the other hand, they've gone for word of mouth. It would be appropriate if they at least advertised in MMORPG Forum, but to aim it at existing communities, that Sulake has build upon is unprofessional and shouldn't be tolerated by Sulake. Try and give empathy to Sulake, IF you was an entrepreneur or was part of corporate company, and to find third-parties trespass on your product by advertising they're product though the mediums of Habbo fansites (such as Habbox as what Andy has done, as he's part of the project), then I'm sure you'd be a little abrupt and disheartened. Even though it's no skin off Sulake, It's not the appropriate way to go about advertising.
ClubTropica can advertise through a 101 methods to gain fresh new members who'd like to participate in MMORPG community. Therefore I see ClubTropica in my eyes as unprofessional. Some members may disagree, and some members may agree with my opinions.

That's a bit... sad don't you think?
But anyway, why make fansites for a game that hasn't even been launched yet? :S It's more ideal to make a fansite for a game AFTER it's been released!
I know of another game that has been around for about 5 years, and since a competitor came around, its popularity dropped like Rik Waller falling off the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
However, the game has resurged into popularity after an online version of it was announced, and people have made fansites for it now.
So, if you don't want to go to Club Tropica, then don't!
If you do, then just go.

Do you work for Sulake? Your awfully defensive.
Considering Heidi Foster removed Jaeh's Habbo Hroup this morning due to it containing the words ClubTropica and it breaking their Terms & Conditions.
Again, I'm just repeating myself here. However I shall continue to express my opinions and feelings. Sulake Oy have created a invitational game, you have to be honest it's addictive for the majority of users of the minority. Yes, I'll blatantly admit that Sulake can often be money grabbing, and the same scenario applies for all competitive companies whom are reputable and built upon a status image.
However, you see professionals companies and enterprises build up gradually, investing to get a better outcome in general, by the means of an higher gross profit and revenue. However Sulake Oy have invested from day one, putting allot of capital in to the business not knowing if they'd succeed or struggle to strive. Yet, they've done well and they've become successful and opened up more than sixteen Habbo Hotels world wide.
When Sulake first started, they didn't go on other MMORPG Sites and flaunt they're new project, "Habbo Hotel". They did market research prior to it's opening, invest in website advertisement and write articles in magazines about they're new franchised product. In comparison ClubTropica, they've done the opposite and there's no point in denying it. They've used existing Habbo communities and fansites were a large majority of existing Habbo Users dwell, and target that majority to recruit.
In terms of business, I understand it's competitive and that company's must go to allot of extents to strive to succeed. However there are appropriate methods, and professional methods to go about it without interfering with other business, such as Sulake. Even if Sulake consist of an high revenue! (5.5million or more) it's still not the point! Give that empathy, IF you owned Sulake! and they started using your products i.e. Habbo Hotel to advertise for free, and steal a source of profits then I'm sure you'd want some form of action to be taken.
All Sulake has done is remove a group, and perhaps encouraged in-game Moderator's to change users missions from ClubTropica. I understand that Sulake will take further precaution in the future by blocking keywords using the Bobbafilter to discourage users from leaving Habbo, and I support Sulake all the way. Sulake are still working on interventional methods to keep users occupied, it costs allot of money for lingo developers, emulation development, website development, and graphics development to introduce new furniture, features to keep users happy. These things take time, and allot of beta testing prior to the release. For ClubTropica to come and persuade existing Habbo users in a rather cunning, and manipulative way by word of mouth, without having to even pay a penny for advertising on here is cunning. Some user's can't see they're strategy, but you must look at things more logical.

It isn't "sad" in any way. Diplomatically looking in to issues, and seeing both ways and then debating them is one way of expressing yourself, and having your word! Else, if you don't express yourself, you'll let others choose and take you through there path.
So, if you don't want to go to Club Tropica, then don't!
If you do, then just go.
I'm not really holding no grudge against them, I'm not debating why users should GO to the site, or NOT GO. I'm just emphasising that ClubTropica has already set a grim expression in my eyes to they're potential market targeted users (you Habbox users).
I'm just looking at how they're already establishing them selves, already they're being unprofessional in many ways, and if they're already being unprofessional prior to them opening the site, then I'd not even like to imagine what it's going to be like when ClubTropica opens.
They've already announced the opening about 1 week prior, that's a rather late announcement. For advertisement purposes, well they're already taking advantage as I've stated in previous posts :P.

As some of you may be aware, Callie has left the UK office to find other challenges in this great wide world.
We at Habbo UK wish her the best of luck in the future, and thank her for the hard work, effort and exemplary dedication she has shown over the last year and a half. We know that Habbo UK will never be the same without her.
In the interim, Lost_Witness will be filling in as Hotel Manager, and we hope you welcome him and give him a chance- he has some mighty big shoes to fill, but we are sure that over the coming weeks he will prove himself more than capable of shouldering this enormous opportunity/ burden.
Mr. Dionysus is not leaving the company, but is leaving Habbo UK. He leaves on Sunday to start a new, painful and terrifying life at Sulake HQ in Helsinki. He is terrified beyond belief.

:D
For Sulake to be doing that, then it clearly shows that they must be worried about loosing some customers, even if they are worrying a tiny little bit.
I wouldn't put it past Sulake to go and ban every user who even mentions the word "ClubTropica", Sulake is unethical in it's ways, maybe it has changed but from what I have experienced they are one company who needs to be looked into.
There is nothing wrong with them using word of mouth, especially on Habbox, after all Habbo chose not to re-add them as an official fansite, so i understand them being annoyed at official-fansites advertising it, but for them to comment on Habbox advertising it then that is just ridiculous.
I think it is a great way to advertise, I know lots of people who can't wait for CT to open because they are fed up of the same old Habbo rubbish, so by getting the word out to those Habbos is great.
I work in advertising myself, and for them to be big then i agree with you they will need to expand and do other forms of advertising, maybe they have it all planned though.
It's about time Sulake gets hit with something, and I would love this to affect there business in time. But firing Becs was the way forward for them.

I'm sure that those who do know 'exclusive' gossip or news have signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) with ClubTropica and therefore cannot leak the information.

Someone posted earlier about how sulake is doing their best to keep us occupied on habbo. They said it takes alot of time to develop new furniture. I think its **, companies like Blizzard Entertainment come out with new patches and content each week to keep players busy. And the weeks where new content isn't released a patch is released fixing everything players dislike. Habbo needs an official forum much like World Of Warcraft's forum, they need to actually listen to what we want and stop giving us ridiculous prices on something such as a crypt. For a while now Habbo has been moving downhill.

James is obviously talented at what he does and putting that to good use :) We are going back a long time now and i'm sure hes moved on from his days on habbo.
Many companies employ people who previously went against their product like program developers would use hackers to help them tighten up security and car manafacturers use ex car thieves. The list could go on.
The knowledge James has should help make Club Tropica's security much better. We know he has experience at getting past a multi national companies security measures which would look great on his cv.

Its not owned by Justine, and she came across as a pain in the bottom at the time but she was a good hotel manager at the end of the day. Everyone hates the hotel manager when they are in power lol.
But she was probably instructed to do a lot of things by idiots such as Becs.

Some people need to get out more if their already creating fansites for something they haven't even been on, 1 fansite was OK, But having around 9, Jesus christ.
and btw all those tropica sites who say their unofficial and are on the homepage of the site, your obviously official as your representing them because you could change your site to a rant and damage their reputation on site secruity.

Saying they were added as an accident is just another big sulake lie in my opinion.
I think that habbo uk were struggling to meet their targets for that month/quarter or whatever they work on :O Add the supers to the catologue for a short time and 1000s of people all started rushing to buy creds for the supers :) same thing with the h a b b o trophies.
People can try and reserve their name on club tropica now if you did'nt already know.
Yeah, if the name you originally wanted has already been taken then you'll be added to a shortlist in order for the chance to recieve it. If the original reservation isn't followed through when the sites open then the next person in the line will get the name.
If that makes sense :P

You know, Sulake are to blame for the number of people logged in. There was so much more advertising when Callie was in power, maybe that's partly to blame? Plus it's so much more difficult to clone now. The reason Habbo UK did reach it's highest number of people is because impetuous sent out messages telling everyone to clone.

Coming from a Habbox moderator, thats pretty low.I don't see why you need to single out Moderators every time they do something which isn't on a positive note. We all joined as normal members to post our opinions on matters as that's what a forum is. When you become a Moderator you don't automatically have to agree with everything and be a happy clappy. Your still allowed your own valuable opinion for being who you are and for being registered, like everyone else on this forum is allowed too.

When does this gay thing open then?
702 post in this thread wow
I'm curious how Habbox is going to play this now.
Are you going to launch (or have you already) a Club Tropica style Habbox?
Or are you going to merge it and shizzle. Have you thought about it?

I highly doubt it... Alot of you seem to forget that there are LOADS of websites like Clubtropica that are around, and fail.

ClubTropica have not offered anyone jobs except a few moderators and customer support. All staff must be over 18, and we are very careful with who we hire. On the site launch, details of a volunteer moderation group will be announced, however no one will be offered jobs as this untill then. Anyone suggesting so is incorrect, and anyone claiming to be a moderator is lying as all staff are under NDA's and not authorized to leak this, except Jaeh and SteveBrown03.
"Voulenteer moderation group" - Will this be for minors that are under 18?

That's a very good idea actually, I could imagine the excuse though 'THEY CHANGED PW AS WELL'
+rep if I can for the idea.
Actually I know someone who got onto that banned screen but he told me next time he tried the pass was changed
Hey all,
First of all I just would like to say that guys that is really Callie... trust me on this ;). I have been friends with Justine for a while now :)
Pstttt.. on ClubTropica (http://www.clubtropica.com/) type callie or disarno (lower case) in the email box ;).
I have been offered a position at ClubTropica as a Moderator by Justine Hill (Callie) which I am very excited about! People have said 'It will probably crash and burn!' however when was Habbo at it's peak? When Lost_Witness managed it? Erm... no.. When Callie managed the hotel Habbo easily reached 10,000+ during peak hours.
Sorry Habbo but out with the old and in with the new.
ClubTropica - Opening Nov '07.
Adiós for now!

There is only a small minority of people who are interested in it so far, besides it hasn't even opened and people are so excited. Purely because of the fact that an ex staff member is supposedly working there.

Try it.Yeah it's true. No doubt they'll claim it'll be a technical error. However I think differently.
If there going to be like Habbo Hotel and constantly lie, fake and treat you like kids then there already off to a bad start. Especially if it's for over 16s.

Yes and I had a discussion with Just-One about it as well, he said they have marketing managers and much more but still I don't see where they are advertising. The only advertising I have seen is on Habbo Forums, the "features websites" some are Habbo fansite and most are Club Tropica fansite - ran by Habbo users. I don't see any other websites up there which Club Tropica is big on and is nothing to do with Habbo.
There isn't many updates on the site as there was when it first opened and now it's slowly fading away (Or I'm just not reading threads on it). It's not like no one is interested in it but the last biggest update was reserve your name.. now they haven't got a date for when it is opening "just in november" surely if it was that big they would of had a set date for completion- they must be 99.9% done by now, were nearly halve way through November.
