hi, protein does work for muscle gain. i will explain,
when you lift weights and train your muscles slightly rip and require protein to repair and increase in size. the more muscle you have on your body, the more calories your body uses up within a day. so if the rest of your diet stays the same as it usually is then you should add more muscle and lose some body fat.
i didnt type that by the way
found it on yahoo xx

Helps build up the old muscle, tend to be used when in some sort of training. Alot of boxers bring them.
Hope that helps.

What's funny Fit.Boy01 ZFU Seasons? Simple question. What's funny is that others could answer in more detail than yourself...
Thanks guys, +rep.

basically they help in respiriate and transcription nd translation in your mRNA.
But they don't really help tbh. Best thing to have is 5 a day & water instead of them drinks.
They amount of rubbish they put in it outweighs the protein bonuse in the drinks tbh
I take protien shakes. It's basicaly a powder called wheya which you add with water. Though in my opinion having alot of skinned milk is better for you as it has calcium and high vitamin b 12.
Protien repairs damaged cells and is used for growth [in muscles etc]
They come in powder and you normally add milk and you can get them if defferent flavours (strawberry, vanilla etc.) and it just build up your muscles and give you a tad more energy. They can be high in calories which is why boxers etc use them, as they need like 5000 calories a day.
Er, hope this helped :P

Like Jamie & paws said, chemists (Boots or superdrug) or health places (Holland and Barretts) also do them.
Are they a weak form of steroids though? Or am I just being stupid there.

you can get them from many places.
any sport shop normally sells them.
jjb, sports direct, places like that.
gyms also sell them, and chemists [like others have said]
its alot easier to just have a daily routine for your food, because with protein shakes you have to make sure you burn it all into muscle or burn it off, otherwise it will just build up and you will become fatter.
[Local gym told me that]

LOLOL! You haven't tried to hold back before. Such a petty grudge you still have against me.
Thanks guys.
+repz evri1.
I'll stick to the weights and leave the shakes. :P
I take protein drinks, well used to. I am now on creatine. They give exactly what is says, protein which will is used for growth and repair. Most of them also include amino acids which again helps to build muscle. I have been taking it for about a year now and tbh they dont really help unless am guessing you buy an exspensive one. also get chocolate flavour. Vanilla and strawberry is horrible.
