GCSE Science Exams... 2 weeks.

Why have they introduced GCSE exams into year nine?

They count as 25% of my total GCSE grade ;-;

You've got nothing to worry about. GCSE's *really* don't mean anything.

Really, they do. They affect what college you can go to or if you can go to sixth form and everything. It's like SATS, they can affect how many options you get for GCSEs

Not really, as long as you only get 5 GCSE's then you're sorted. Most colleges that even say that let you in anyway. As long as the GCSEs are passed then that is all that matters. By the way I am at college now.

I'm in year 9 and my 3 science exams are in June. I have Welsh the week before them and I have my R.E. exam this Wednesday.

GCSE Science, English and Maths mean alot. Alot of jobs, colleges and Universities ask for atleast a C in those three subjects. However, you are allowed to resit your module exams in the run up to your final examination?

Yes you can. Most universities just ask for 5 GCSEs.

Anyway, what I was trying to say was that they do mean something, but alot of people (mainly teachers) over exagurate the importance of the exams. A pass is all that is needed.

Some people want to go to like, good colleges or universities so they would need more than 5 passes...
