View Full Version : Anti-Habbo?

I was just wondering if anything was going to be done about the continual anti-Habbo remarks all over the forum, especially in the Habbo section. I don't play Habbo much these days and there was always one or two who shouted 'Addict!' and 'Staff suck-up!' at the usual suspects but I think it's just out of hand now?

The majority of threads I look at in the Habbo section is all flaming of Habbo, if anyone says they like a new furni or says anything positive about Habbo they'll be called Addict and be called various other things just because they like something on Habbo.

Most people on this forum played Habbo at one point but since they've quit they find it hilarious to flame anyone who likes Habbo? Just last week I said the Habbo Toolbar was a good idea for some users and I'm flamed in a PM for being a Habbo Addict.

If the name calling is excessive, it's occasionally infracted but it's got to the point I think some users are afraid to post what they think. Some people now have to safeguard themselves by saying 'I'm not interested, I just want to know' or by saying 'It's a good idea for others'. I think that proves how sad the situation has got.

If people are becoming ashamed to like Habbo like most of us once did, I think that's rather sad for a Habbo FANsite.

Discuss.

I know what you mean, it seems to have come to the point where it's 'uncool' to like Habbo on this forum and like you said, it's a Habbo Fansite and I don't know where this all came from.

I've witnessed this many times, and it makes you think why did they join this forum? Did they join the forum with good intention? Or purely to try and redicule those that still enjoy Habbo? It needs sorting that's for sure.

If anyone gets flamed in a pm re this subject they shouldn't tolerate it! Whoever sent the pm is truly a coward, and is deliberately out to destroy members confidence, so staff should get involved.

Alex, I am sure and I would be greatful to see any links showing this and am happy to help out where this is going on. I agree it is not very nice indeed. It is a form of bullying in a way even if the person posting does not realise that. Half the time they 'follow my leader'. I love making rooms on Habbo still. I will have a look at the Habbo section as a matter of priority. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I would indeed be grateful for any links, although with the amount of admin I have atm I'd suggest directing it towards an smod who will deal with it as he sees fit :)

Its people like this that the new "trolling" infraction was designed for, and in more serious cases the bullying infraction. People who do this deserve at the very least those infractions, or if they do it too often an instant caution/temp ban. I'll brief the moderators of the habbo forum to keep an eye out for it :)

To contrary Alice's point - the users joined a long time ago when they were 'in to Habbo' so they obviously didn't come on just to target them. I agree though, considering it's a Habbo forum users shouldn't slate the Habbo users on here for using Habbo.

I agree that it's funny, but I don't participate.

A new 'trolling' infraction was recently introduced and this will probably come under that from now on (although the MM or an admin would need to confirm this).

I have seen this around the Habbo Forum for quite a while now. I think that it isn't just a recent thing though and I feel it has been going on for a while now. I just don't see why people, if they don't have anything positive to say, can't just say nothing. As you say, it is gradually removing people's freedom to post there views, as they are scared to do so. Hopefully the A-Team (Catzsy and the Community Team) and the B-Team (Alex and his Team of MOD's) ;), can try and resolve this :)

I highly recommend you report these users in the "Report Rule breaking / Serious abuse (http://www.habboxforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1173)" forum as behaviour like that is unacceptable.

The more information you supply us, the faster it can be dealt with.

A lot of people do say things about habbo around the forum,
but nothing can be done unless Its reported, The rule breakers will be dealt with accordingly when they are caught. :)

I don't play Habbo anymore but I don't flame the people who still do play because that is just completely unfair. We all took an interest in Habbo once, being a part of this forum, and of course wouldn't have liked it to get flamed for posting about Habbo on a Habbo based forum.

Posts such as these are now classed as trolling and will be dealt with from now on. :)

I think members of the forum who particularly like Habbo, either alot or very little, should be given the right to offend and be rude to the members calling others addicts, for trivial comments like "I like this item" etc etc, on the basis that it doesn't make someone an addict for liking the look of an object. I don't particularly like Flight Sim., but if I see something interesting I would say "I like the look of that." If a member calls me an addict, then they're the imbesiles thinking addict means you MUST like this, rather than I like a small aspect.

I think it would be more appropriate to report them and let us deal with the situation rather than making it worse ;).

Indeed, what I believe you're encouraging is allowing members to have blazing arguments with each other. Considering everything we've done this week is to make the forum more pleasant, don't you think that sort of goes against what we're trying to achieve?

But they are idiots if they thinking liking the looks of something in a game makes them an addict :( You're being honest calling them ignorant prats :P

Sarcasm m'dear, although you could subtly hint to the offenders they're idiots using subtle words. I do it often to some people :P

I started playing habbo now since my mate admitted to doing so the other day and it is highly addictive but can be quite fun when you have nothing to do. I do feel that some people play the game too excessively that would be concerning i.e. spending £300 on the game. There are people who definately play the game for greed, which is probably the addicting part but its not for me to say directly to them.
Telling somebody names isn't particulary nice but why should we bother to care? Can't we choose to NOT read it or shall we ban them for their opinion on Habbo?
If we start becoming offended that easily then there is a serious problem for us all... :eusa_whis:eusa_whis:eusa_whis
