Hey, I need serious help.
I am only just 14 years old and weigh 15 stone (Waits for gasps to end)
I need serious help to lose weight. I don't care what it takes, but I don't live near any Gyms that take my age and that I can afford.
I am thinking just go a full on health eating and excersise - until - I - almost - faint kind of diet. I will eat Muesli for breakfast, an egg/turkey sandwich on brown bread, no butter and a bottle of water for lunch, after school run in the Garden for 10-20mins and do step ups on a small wall. Later in the day (9 oclockish) do a 1hour fitness video three times a week (*** recommended by the DvD, otherwise it is dangerous.)
So, could you recommend any other diets?
By the way, I am hoping to lose the weight farely fast.
Thank you for help :)

Atkins diet.
Drink 9 glasses of water a day.
30 minutes cardiovascular. i.e. Running, walking, cycling, swimming, football, basketball - ANYTHING that gets your heart beating and gets you out in a sweat.
No fatty foods.

It'd be better to just eat one thing in the morning then nothing else cos by a certain time (6pm/7pm) you aren't really active so stuff you do eat won't be burnt off as quickly
It could be that you're not eating enough and your body is storing the things you do eat as fat...
If that's not the case- the best idea would be to go to the Dr, he can give you the most effective diet for you. :)

eat less and move more
if you go on a crash diet you're gonna end up fatter because if you dont eat regularly, your body thinks you aren't gonna feed it, so anything you do take it, it'll store it as fat.
best thing to do is do things gradually. you aren't gonna lose 5 or so stone overnight, it'll take a few months.
Easy, let me just correct you though, you want to loose body fat not weight, you might
tone your muscles if your doing alot of cardio which could put on some weight.
Anyway yeah step ups and running is the way to go. Not sure about that excersice video
but i guess it could help. Also switch to alternatives. Use weight watchers danish bread (under 50 calories per slice and like 0.4g fat) and flora pro-active (which is also low fat).
Skimmed milk (0.1g fat per 100ml, normal milk is about 4.0g fat per 100ml! avoid the blue)
And yeah, try and include more fruit veg and meats in your diet.
Another thing, you should start doing sit up excersises, and 'women push ups'. These can
be easily done at home
Hope this helped
you need to start running or maybe areobics or something..
ermm yeh drink water, hunger can often be disguised as thirst, also try not to eat carbs or fat.

15 - 20 minutes jogging in the garden isn't going to do alot for you, your body doesn't start burning fat until after 15 minutes of intense exercise therefore I can't see this helping you burn fat at all unless you're sprinting around the garden; and even then it won't be burning much. You should keep eating your 3 meals a day - have your main calorie intake for your breakfast as you will burn these calories throughout the day, then eat something light for lunch like you said a sandwich but use brown bread as it contains much less "bad" ingredients as white bread then for your tea have a decent meal like jacket potato or pasta but try not to have any chips or a snack afterwards. Never eat after 7pm at night as I've heard this is where your body stores the most fat - not sure how but y'know. Good luck on losing weight. :)

Okay i think youv'e gotten mixed up here.
Alot of diet programmes (especially for women) will tell you to have a low fat and carbohydrate meal. The only problem is that these diet programmes don't expect you to do alot of exercise. And if he did eat very little carbohydrates and little fat then he would have no energy rescources, which is bad because he is trying to excersise.
Really if your exercising alot you should only really cut down on the fat.
But yeah you need to eat less carbs than your burning. These are the following carbohydrates you should be eating.
]- Wholemeal bread
]- Skimmed milk
]- Potatoes
]- Pasta
There are many others, there just examples. These carbohydrates listed above are known as complex carbohydrates meaning that they will release energy over time, which is what you need =]. Stay away from mars bars etc there the bad carbohydrates
Edit: At the above post - Yeah everything you said is basically true but heavier people will start burning more fat more quickly than the average person. Also they say you shouldn't eat SIMPLE carbohydrates at 7pm because usualy you wouldn't do any excercise then but if you do then your fine. Because all the carbohydrate and energy you burn is mostly turned into excess fat
Theres always liposuction or w/e it's called.

Don't crash diet, it's not good for you, yeah you might loose more than you would just dieting, but it'll all pile back on if you do a crash diet.
I suggest going to your doctor, explaining the situation, and ask if you can be referred to a dietitian who will be able to help you with foot habbits etc, whats good and whats bad to eat, and maybe set up a timetable with you.
If you're going to eat healthy and have regular exercise, don't give up if the changes aren't instant, because they won't be, they'll happen over time..

Yeah the changes wont be instant, but in the first few weeks you will see a dramatic increase in your level of fitness and maybe a big decrease in your body fat %

If you can afford it get a exercise bike :)
I use one daily, doing 22km in 30 mins (On average)
Believe me everytime you do it you will do it in a quicker time, and by doing it for 30 mins you can EASILY lose 450 calories :)
Enjoy.

In all honesty you cant take all the advice on these forums 100% seriously because we dont know your exact health conditions. Its best really to go to a doctor get a checkup and they'll check general health and then things like weight BMI fat percentages. From there you can distinguish the sort of thing you need. Every persons body is different so take that into account if you follow any advice given on the forums.
If you know about your fat percentage and your body you can set about dieting. You'll want to just have a simple low fat diet. Most people seem to think low fat diets are dry and boring (Fat = Flavour theory) but in all honesty there not! even things like Low fat sandwiches and Diet/Zero soft drinks make a difference. If your the sort of person that has large portions try cutting them down but dont do it drastically cut portions down slowly just so you know whats healthy for you. Lots of low fat foods are very filling and taste good. Dont try weightwatchers or anything like that because its just general portion control i.e they have ready meals and such in small portions but give them points to make it seem like you've eaten alot. Most weightwatchers stuff is actually quite bad. Avoid ready meals in general and anything processed. try eating fresh foods or even if you cant get fresh veg you can always have canned veg. Fish is amazing for a healthy lifestyle it helps keep you healthy (generally) and keeps skin glowing, Fish like tuna and salmon are very good (steamed/baked). Try reading labels more get to know the calorie content of things such like snacks. For products that dont list their calorie content (some foods from abroad ect.) you can check them on www.calorie-count.com (http://www.calorie-count.com). That website is amazing because it has a virtual food diary that tracks everything for you i strongly recommend it.
On The exercise front you probably want to stick to a cardio vascular regime (especially if body fat percentage is between 25-30%)
Body fat percentage is organized as -
28+ - Very Poor
24-27 - Poor
18-25 - Acceptable (for adult bodies, if your below the age of 18 you will need to get a doctor to tell you what your body fat percentage falls into)
14-17 Good
10-13 Very Good
Cardio Vascular exercise helps you to lose fat because its not spot training it pushes the whole body and increases heart rate. When you get very fit cardio vascular exercise can burn up to 600 calories PER HOUR! Cardio vascular exercise is good because the rate you build muscle mass from it is slower than the rate you burn fat. So you lose more fat than the muscle you put on. Say if someone lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks they'd probably only put on 2 lbs in muscle.
Things like - Cycling, Rowing, Running, Walking all count as cardio vascular anything that increases your heart rate and gets you breathing heavily counts as cardio vascular exercise
Remember consult your doctor and get an idea of your current physical shape before starting an exercise plan or diet.

Hey there,
I reccommend that you check out your BMI (Body Mass Index) using this (http://kidshealth.org/teen/food_fitness/dieting/bmi.html) site (http://kidshealth.org/teen/food_fitness/dieting/bmi.html). The results are then displayed in a graph, enabling you to easily see where you stand.
Cereal diets are supposedly very good. If you replace 2 out of your 3 daily meals with a bowl of healthy cereal (such as Special K) and (semi-)skimmed milk, then you are very likely to lose weight. However - do you best to avoid putting sugar on your cereal!

No fatty foods.
The Atkins Diet is probably one of the worst diets you could ever turn to. All I'd recommend is to do light exercises; such as a slow walk for about 20 mins every day, and increase the work load.
Drink water, and eat less fatty foods; just make sure you have a balanced diet.
If you're that concerned about wanting to go on a diet, consult your doctor as they'll know what your body needs.

Finally, someone with bloody sense.

And again, sense, it's a cool thing isn't it?
Okay heres the low down "g". You're obviously consuming wayyyy too many calories so I recommend dropping 500. The daily recommended ammount for us **** jugglers is 2000, make that 1,500. This will help A LOT as thats basically 1 meal out the door (fantastic I know!)
Secondly, you're going to want to do some exercise boii.. Now I don't care if this exercise makes you out of breath or makes you feel like a complete ***, just do it. When your heart rate goes up you burn off calories.. Now I can hear you screaming at your computer screen like a complete douche' (WHAT!? MORE CALORIES?!) Yes, more calories! The more calories you can lose with exercise and calorie dropping the better!
Remember to eat 3 meals per day, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Don't listen to them size 0 wannabe's on the first page as they are just anorexic and will probably die before they reach 40. :eusa_clap
Finally, your body is like a car.. if you don't put fuel in, it doesn't start, simple as. But our body WILL store some fats because lets face it.. if you was starving me to death the old slogan "every little helps!" would come in handy..
Goodluck!
