Well, my grandfather died about 3 months ago (from old age, 94) and he left me 2 items.

1 gold colored coin and a case for it.

The thing is, it's very heavy, theres a 99.9% marking on its side so I'm suspecting it's 99.9% gold?

It has a panda on one side, other side has one of those chinese like buildings with text carved in around it and the panda.
Under the building theres 1983 carved in, which means it's from then.
I was wondering, has anybody seen the coin or is it like extremely rare?

The China Panda Gold Coin Series proved to be extremely popular and large quantities were placed into jewelry. To fill the need for smaller coins to put in coin rings, earrings, etc, the China Mint introduced the 1/20 ounce Panda Gold Coin in 1983. As the mintage numbers suggest, these are also quite scarce coins. Many were made into jewelry and mint condition Pandas from this second year of issue are difficult to find.

I contacted a expert, hes telling me it's worth 1600USD as it's the one ounce one.

Know of any expensive arabic like coins, it's very hard to explain but got it like 10years ago but cant find out what the hell it's name is.

What does it look like?
It's a lot of arabic text, a ring and more arabic text in the ring, 2 palms under the ring on both sides. One side has a book between the palms and the other one has 2 swords.

I'll try get a pic, gimme a moment if text does not help

Also, the pic you showed me is that the one ounce one?

wouldn't you rather keep the memory of your grandfather?

of course I'm not going to sell it! That'd be shameful to his memory.
I'm just curious, what can I say.

Good to hear you wont sell it. He left you it probably for you to remind you of him. No matter how much it's worth. :)

With that attitude, I think it's best they didn't if you only remember your grandparents for what they gave you, rather than what happiness and memories they left with you, and you have no respect for them :/ My grand dad didn't leave me anything, and I don't see why he should do. I loved him for being my grand dad, not someone who gave me an expensive watch or other object that someone might leave for you...

LOL, in no way did I state I only remember my grandparents for what they gave me, considering they didn't give me anything  and in no way can you determine if I have no respect for them on the basis of one comment I made :\
