Well, my grandfather died about 3 months ago (from old age, 94) and he left me 2 items.

1 gold colored coin and a case for it.

The thing is, it's very heavy, theres a 99.9% marking on its side so I'm suspecting it's 99.9% gold?

It has a panda on one side, other side has one of those chinese like buildings with text carved in around it and the panda.
Under the building theres 1983 carved in, which means it's from then.
I was wondering, has anybody seen the coin or is it like extremely rare?

The China Panda Gold Coin Series proved to be extremely popular and large quantities were placed into jewelry. To fill the need for smaller coins to put in coin rings, earrings, etc, the China Mint introduced the 1/20 ounce Panda Gold Coin in 1983. As the mintage numbers suggest, these are also quite scarce coins. Many were made into jewelry and mint conditionPandas from this second year of issue are difficult to find.

It's a lot of arabic text, a ring and more arabic text in the ring, 2 palms under the ring on both sides. One side has a book between the palms and the other one has 2 swords.

I'll try get a pic, gimme a moment if text does not help

Also, the pic you showed me is that the one ounce one?

of course I'm not going to sell it! That'd be shameful to his memory.
I'm just curious, what can I say.
