I've seen a few people here and there with that.. I was thinking of putting it on mine.
Wondering what version my computer would support:
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 Hyperthreading (3.7GHz)
Memory: 512MB DDR
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce FX5600
Sound: Soundblaster Pro MPU-401
(Dell Dimension 8300)
Anyone have an idea what version to use, and any instructions?

Mac on Windows or Mac on PC?

I meant PC, orginally with Windows ;P Been a long day.

with those specs I would go for a tiger version, as leopard works best with SSE3 and I'm not sure whether pentium 4 can do that.
osX86 is what you need to search for, guides for many things.

Thanks! :) I'll look that up, btw my architecture is 32bit.

32bit is fine, just make sure you have SSE2 at least. SSE3 recommended.

I would go for Tiger on that spec :)

Wondering if I want to just remove XP all together, or dual boot Mac/XP.. any recommendations?

I think its easiest to use the XP bootloader, you would have to mess around with a darwin or GRUB loader without XP.
I've had no problems with Vista and OS X :)

Do you need XP? Is it doing something for you that a mac can't?
If both answers are no, then NAHH, you don't need XP. I have osx86 tiger on my desktop, suppose it's OK.

Hmm, thing is, I use XP for importing photos to my computer from my memory card reader (external), and I'm not sure if it will work with Mac.

Hmm, not sure if I want to venture with it.. I've heard Mac is really good.. but is Tiger any good?

I would say that as good as Tiger is, Leopard is far far far better.

it might lag.. but leopard doesn't require that much to run..
* 512MB memory
* DVD drive for installation
* 9GB of free disk space
* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider, fees may apply.
* Some features require Apple’s .Mac service, fees apply.

I'll just torrent it, and burn the ISO.
Hopefully it goes successful, I still need to backup all my photos and media to my home server.
Wish me luck ^_^.

Is that all we do? Burn the ISO and run? -crossesfingers

Well it depends, I'm just burning the ISO to a DVD, and just hoping that the installer will format my hard disk. It will be backed up, so it's all good.
Shouldn't be harder then a linux install, I have a feeling they go the same way.

That's what I'm gonna do. Saving up for MacBook atm. Just wanna see what it's like. I'm just completely fed up with Vista and don't have an XP disc.
w00t. Rapidshare is d/l at 250KB/s. I usually get 700KB/s but was better than the 30KB/s I was getting 30 minutes ago lol

I've always wanted to put mac on my pc, but what are the minimum specs? (I want to dual boot)

I believe for leopard it's around 6-7 GB (depending on version) for the actual OS. 512mb ram and a sse3 intel core processer is best.
Leopard is the only one that can support 8XXX series nvidia cards. Not sure about ATI, don't really care from my point of view :P
