We could whine all day about how it was better in the old days, but scrap that, satisfy your need for some sexy nostalgia and check out this website right here:

http://pewpewstyle.net23.net/

Plenty of images from the older Habbo, looked like good times. This isn't my site and I havn't a clue who owns it, but I'm looking for more like it.

Anyone got lots of old images? Or perhaps a similar website?

Yeah, check out this Habbox Rare Values page from December 2004, look how few rares there are in comparison with todays, it seems mind boggling the ammount we have now! I'm going to go ahead and guess that the top super rare, worth 43T was the Snowglobe, oh how we looked upon that with awe.

Click 'Rares' then 'Rare Values' on the link:

I'd forgotten how simple it all was.

Why does everyone prefer it? Simple things please simple minds.

I'd forgotten how simple it all was.

Why does everyone prefer it? Simple things please simple minds.

Close minded proverbs leads to ignorance.

We preferred it because there was less complication, less recolours of furniture. It was easy to familiarise with the surroundings. There were also a lot less Habbo's, allowing for a closer community with more recognition of those around you. Limited furniture left inspiration and excitement for what new furniture is ahead, now we have become desensitised, and new ranges become a bore. Habbo was also a lot less forward in it's pursuit of further profits, things moved slower, at a pace people with normal lives could be comfortable with, these days, missing a week means a lot of catching up.
I could go on, but simply, if you were there, you would sympathise.
It's like anything in life, 'the good old days' of High school, the 'summer of 69' or whatever it may be, nostalgia is a great emotion to pursue.

Because it wasn't full of 2005/6/7/8s and there were Moderators and hobbas.

HOSKO02, you just proved my point.

Seriously, move on. Nostalgia is a horrible thing to pursue, it's alright to use for reminiscence but not to use--it makes people ignorant.

What annoys me is the amount of people saying it was great back then simply because they are trying to say 'Look how long I've been on Habbo' even though they probably weren't on that long ago. I joined in 2001 and I have to say it was rubbish compared to now. We never had new normals, people acted exactly the same as they do now and we used to have to wait sometimes up to 6 months between rares. Now you get loads of events and loads of new furniture, what the hell are you complaining about? I know someone is going to say 'Ione gave out free furni' well the fact is in 2001 when he did it was worthless, no one cared for it because everyone had it, its only years later that people do.

Years ago Habbo was more basic and more boring. Face it. You just like complaing and are trying to look cool.

plz i'm only giving an explanation as to why threads used to be made whenever 10,000 people were online yet in 2004/2005 10,000 would be school day hours

Don't be so stupid, in 2004/5 10,000 would have been made up of Habbos from all over the world. Now it's just Britain. Count up the amount of Habbos on every hotel on a school night, it's much much more.

No. You're wrong. You're nasty. Why would foreigners leave the UK?

That's easier said than done, the grass is always greener, after all.

I'm not saying I hate my Habbo experiences in the modern context, just that I am fond of the ones in the past and value them more, perhaps because I am older now and noticed impurities/annoyances were I did not when I was a younger player. Either way, there is no shame at taking a look into the past. If we had some more links in here it would be a valuable insight for not just 'veterans' but also newer Habbo's that would want to see how it has changed.

I'm not wrong. The foreigners have their own hotels to go to now.

That doesn't even make sense.

The grass is always greener, a common phrase meaning in this context that previous times in Habbo are deemed to be better/more enjoyable than current times.

No it's not lol. You can't use that phrase in this context because old Habbo doesn't exist anymore.

Everyones going to have a different opinion of what the older times of Habbo were like but in my opinion they were brilliant. It was a good community then and everyone knew eachother but at the end of the day Habbo is a chat site, its never going to remain full of the same people.

Oh jesus, how I miss that Gold HC badge, it sparkled so BEAUTIFULLY. And god I waited for so long for it, the new ones are damn ugly in comparison. They murdered the classy look of numerals.

Old Habbo was much better tbh not the fact it was simple. It was better because they seemed bothered about Habbo and its users nowadays its more corporate and all about the money (which is understandable) but still the only people that look out for the users now is the office staff and majority of the time on a lot of the hotels they dont do much either.

i thought it was better because of the people. everyone on it nowadays are these fansite radio djs who dress like bing bangs/zedders w.e. you call them now and tlk lyk dis. and people like skaterchu were help centre rejects, not exhalted for having over straightened hair or owning some fansite or god knows why people care about him.

I liked the old navigator only because it looked erm.. cuter? I like the new one too.

I agree with the others in the thread, you are entitled to your opinion but also I agree with 2 others who say that there is no point in living in the past. I mean half the time you check these forums whether it be a new update, new furni, etc they all complain "Habbo sucks", "Habbo isn't what it was". Nobody appreciates the new stuff which rocks! Some people should just get used to change... think of it like this...

Examples that come to my mind:
Phonograph (Them old record players.. google it) vs. I-Pod... 1870-2008
Cave vs. Modern day Apartment
Letters via Pigeons VS. Email

A better one more closer apart but a significant difference...

Landline vs. Being able to own a cell phone and it not being a rare thing! (AMEN!!)We have phones at less than £5 where I live. Regardless of country, KIDS own cell phones. I mean... a few years (I mean more than 5 wise crack) how many kids owned their OWN landline that wasn't in their parents names?

In with the new, out with the old! Quite frankly, I do love the new stuff. Back then we didn't have falling snow or butterflies! Newer badges, more events and PS- Callie sucked :P (my opinion don't shoot me for it) since LW's reign began we have newer rares, more events hell you can say habbo expanded and entertained more users! It feels like the hotel actually is bringing on more for us to use rather than only giving us recolours and saying deal with your Area sofas. Not to mention some stuff got modified as well and looked better(Correct me if I'm wrong, duno if that happened around Callie or LW's time.)

(In regard to convo about Foreign users having their own hotels to go to)
I am not from UK, habbo doesn't have a hotel for our country and probably never will but I use .co.uk. I have accounts in a few others but mainly use UK.

Just my two cents :D
