Hey, well yeah I am it's the best computer I've ever owned. My laptop used to get me really stressed like 3 times a day. So what about you? Is it as good as you assumed, or worse? Or better?

My Windows PC's have crashed and been so much more annoying than this Mac has ever been.
The worst I've experienced on this was Safari not responding whilst I was virtual machine-ing Vista Ultimate. On the other hand, when I was a PC user, I got 5 BSOD's in one day. :P

But yeah, I basically love my Mac and think it's money well spent.

At first, I hated it because it ran OS X, I couldn't get to grips with it! It was awful (my opinion).

Then I installed XP, and it is fine, but not perfect, I paid like twice the amount for the MacBook Pro 15" than I would have for a Dell Inspiron 15" with the same (if better) specs!

Wow - I hope you guys get on with your Macs, i'm looking to replace it next year!

There not a big deal, I had my first one since I was 8, it's a computer with a different OS yes they are better in some ways, but worse in others, like windows and linux. :|

I am, very happy. My iMac is approaching it's first birthday and my Macbook will be being switched on on the 25th December 2008 for the first time. I'm happy to say I've never had a problem with my Mac, except when I tried to bootcamp Windows.... (well, it is Windows!)

Oh my god why do Mac users always seem to feel the need to go on about them? Yeah we get it, no-one thinks Macs are worth the time making viruses for woo-hoo! But they really aren't anything special, just a computer with a different OS like Dave said

No, but this is the Apple & Macintosh section, where people can discuss Apple & their Macintosh's. If you don't like it, leave the section. Not hard... I've stopped doing it around the forum, but you can't really stop me doing it in the Apple & Macintosh section, can you now?

I wouldn't say I was still particularly happy. I have had several problems although I do like the computer :)

I love my Mac! When I go to my Windows laptop to do the occasional thing, I notice it is WAY slower than the Mac. Mac ftw.

i agree, it's like some Mac users are in a cult or something.
Mass Suicide ftw.

I'm reasonably happy with Tiger i only use it for design though.
Like Photoshop/Fireworks.

Thats because either: a) You don't look after your PC, or b) the specs are crap.

The iMac I purchased has the same processor that my Vista/Ubuntu laptop did, however it had 1.5GB less of ram. As far as preforming goes, the iMac wins hands down.

Never liked Mac's...

Im not a big fan of it, it's mainly for the use for people who go on it often and like designing etc.

I prefer my DELL.

It strange most people think that. But really the mac is just a differnt OS. You can word process ect on a mac.

I myself got mine for sound editing as the programs for sound on the mac are far better. Yes you can get windows versions of the ones i use but in my opinion there nothing as good.

I don't have a problem that you are expressing your opinion, I am just stating why we can indeed talk about how much we love out Macs in the Apple & Macintosh forum.

(L) my macbook.
i've had it for almost a year now, i remember at first i didn't like it and would bad mouth off mac to everyone lol. i think that's just because i was so used to windows before hand, so i didn't like having to change some of my applications and getting use to the interface. but yeah now i wouldn't go back to windows, i'm totally switched.

Not taking a stab or anything to cause trouble but...
20" iMac @ £782+:
2.4GHz Core2Duo
1GB RAM
250GB HDD
DL DVD SuperDrive
ATI HD2400XT

PC w/Screen and OS X
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150186 - 2.66GHz C2D - £90.41
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/120446 - DDR2-800MHz 1GB RAM - £10.75
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131214 - 250GB HDD - £33.25
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151827 - DVD DL Burner - £17.30
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154677 - ATI 2400XT - £49.67
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139793 - Case + PSU - £112.54
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151422 - 20" WIDESCREEN - £100.80
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142854 - ASUS P5K Premium MoBo. - £115.25
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MB576Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA&mco=MTU0MDEzMA - OSX Leopard - £83
http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MB615Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA&mco=MTU1NTMxNQ - iLife 08 - £54
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/120816 - Keyboard - £3.42
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/133129 - Mouse - £7.89

£678.28 and that took under 5 minutes. If I looked and shopped around I could build one A LOT cheaper. Notice how actually the screen is widescreen compared to the Mac. The RAM is faster than the standard Apple RAM, the motherboard is a lot better feature-wise and the CPU is slightly faster.

All decent products (+/- the Mouse and Keyboard), will work perfectly with OS X as a Hackintosh with no extra hacking. Anyone that buys a Mac is wasting AT LEAST £100.

And actually, I have seen people build Hackintoshes over at InsanelyMac for just under £300 without a Mouse/Keyboard/Screen.

You pay for quality with apple. I can tell you now that they keyboard you have chosen is not quality at all. Also look at that vile case. With a imac its litrally just the screen and its all built into it. None of that horrible big box ect.

tbh if three out of that list went most people would send the base back and a monitor on it's own is useless.
