Actually, no. Rumbel did it from episode one, but after a certain amount of episodes they started to only take requests. Like if someone wanted to watch episode 83 subbed, they would request that Rumbel sub it, and they would. So that's why some episodes are missing, but others are there. Rumbel have now started to sub all the missing episodes, however. Also, up to episode 96 is subbed.

Rumbel are actually going to continue to sub Gintama even though Crunchyroll are doing it, I think I'll stick with them instead of watching the CR subs. Bad news though, Rumbel said Gintama is likely to end in April. No idea why, maybe it caught up with the manga or something but Gintama is the only anime that I never want to end. I'm somewhat relieved that I'm only on episode 68, because I'm not even half done yet.

The anime has already pretty much caught up to the manga, and I heard that on Wikipedia one of the episode summaries was the gang "discuss the final arc." The creator of the manga said he would like to end Gintama around 30 volumes (right now there is 25 with a ton of unreleased chapters, so near 30 volumes already to be honest), but he does want to do a several other arcs for other characters (Otose, Sa-chan), plus Gintoki's past isn't really complete yet... but the manga seems to be finishing soon as well.

Lol, episode 75 is a recap episode because they blew the budget on episode 74. Guess thats why it was so good. Gintama even has the power to produce amazing recap episodes!

They have budget's per episode and they spent twice as much on one of the episodes so they didn't have enough to produce a good, new one after it. So they added one or two new scenes to the recap episode that they were forced to do, then just recycled a ton of footage so it didn't cost any money. It's still hilarious though. First they mixed around the opening, so they had to play it twice. Then Gin, Kagura and Shinpachi started doing commentary from the beginning of the series, but realised it would take way too long so they just played a load of clips from old episodes with some music, like an AMV. Then they started dubbing different characters voices, which was hilarious. Prince Hata, the big fat majin buu like guy dubbed Takasugi's (the main villain) ultra serious part and it just turned it into a comedy part straight away. Then they played a trailer for a movie version of the Benizakura arc due to the fan's demand, but announced that it was fake at the end. They just recycled everything, but it was still like a new episode. It's excellent! :P

Have you got to the sukiyaki pot episode yet? I think it's episode 25. That's one of my favourite episodes out of the entire series, and the Death Note references in there are just insane!

Another episode to look out for is 79, well I think it's 79. Gin-san and three others (I won't say who) get trapped in four different toilet cubicles with no toilet paper, then one of the people trapped in the toilet happens to have sandpaper on him. Then theres an epic mind war over who can use the sandpaper to trick the others, and who will actually be able to use it for themselves. That is one of the funniest episodes I have ever seen of anything, ever!

He's based on the actual vice captain of the Shinsengumi, Hijikata Toshizo, who's appearence was similar to how he looks in Gintama. I've seen a few other animes which portray Hijikata Toshizo as well, and they all look alike. None of the characters are drawn to look like characters from other animes, only too look similar to the historical figures they're actually based on.

Also, episode 50 probably has the most references. At one part they parody Dragon Ball Z, Bleach and One Piece all at the same time and come up with a new movie called "DragonBleachPiece" featuring all of the Gintama characters. It's hilarious. :P

Just watched episode 109 and there are two perfect Jackie Chan parodies! The scenes are exactly the same! They've referenced Jackie Chan like 6 times throughout the series now. The creator must be a fan. :P

Crunchyroll removed all of the episodes from their website! Theres a chance they will add them back after they have permission, but I am outraged! There was only 8 more episodes I needed to see! I especially left the desert island arc 'til last as well, it looked good! Oh well, atleast I got to watch up to episode 111, and episode 121 - 123. Episode 121 - 123 are so funny. All the main characters get truned into screwdrivers by aliens (apart from Gintoki and Shinpachi. Gin-san's penis gets truned into a screwdriver and Shinpachi's finger gets turned into a scredriver), and they all join this online RPG game to try and find them. Their characters are hilarious! Luckily I have the first 90 episodes of Gintama downloaded, but if anyone else finds a place to watch it please tell me!

Damn, these "official" subs are really bad. Names wrong, script changed, americanized, no translator notes, and during the last five minutes of episode 138 they were completely out of sync. Still funny though, but I actually think the fansubs make it a lot funnier and a lot more understandable.

The final arc starts on the 8th of January. Then Gintama will be over :'( The only anime I wish would never end is already coming to a close! Also, crunchyroll are stupid, why did they start subbing Gintama at the final arc!? Anyway, the preview looked amazing, I need it! Now!

Aparrently, although it still hasn't been comfirmed. They were originally going to end it at 100 episodes, but decided to continue for another year because it grew quite popular. There is a chance the anime will take a break to wait for more manga material though, instead of ending.

Ah, Gin-san's amnesia arc is the first serious-ish one I think. Takasugi must be getting introduced soon. He's awesome! :D Every episode in the 30's is hilarious (episode 34 especially has a super funny scene). Actually now I've said that all the episodes in the 40s are excellent as well, and the 50s. Gintama is probably worth it for episode 44 and 50 alone. :P

Epiosde 94 - 127 were subbed by random people and then uploaded on crunchyroll, but of course they were removed along with the other videos at the beginning of January. Only about 10 episodes inbetween were missing. Crunchyroll seem to be subbing and uploading episode 100+ because they know they're the episodes people haven't necessarily seen yet. Although most of them were fansubbed before the removal. Some of the episodes have been uploaded on YouTube, but currently subs for them do not exist anymore, so you'll have to wait for crunchyroll to release them.

You can watch Gintama in almost any order you want. It's 97% episodic, you can watch episode 37 and then watch episode 111 and still understand whats going on without spoiling anything at all. :P

Pfft, the first twenty-ish episodes are kinda average, although some are actually pretty damn funny. Once it gets past those episodes - best anime ever made. The first twenty episodes set the pace and setting for the series, as well as introduce all of the main characters. Once all that is out of the way, there is nothing but awesomeness and laughs upon laughs upon laughs.

Just watched episode 142 and... oh my god. Just... oh my god. That was probably the best episode I have seen of anything, ever. I'm speechless. Gintama continues to get better and better even after over 140 episodes, nothing else can remain this fantastic after that many episodes! Episode 142 was the definition of epic. Kagura is bloody amazing. Holy ****! It was seriously toooooo good, I can't even think right! Words can't even begin to justify how amazed I am! Epic! Amazing! Fantastic! Awesome! Brilliant! Simply, the best!

The Itou Arc focuses entirely on the Shinsengumi. A former member returns and attempts to take over Hijikata's position as vice commander. Also, Hijikata obtains a cursed sword in this arc that turns him into an otaku and Gintoki, Shinpachi and Kagura temporarily join the Shinsengumi.
The Ryugu-jo Arc is when Gintoki, Kagura, Shinpachi, Hasegawa, Otae and Kyubei get stranded on an island. The inhabitants happen to be trying to turn eveyrone in the world into old people. The last episode of this arc hasn't been subbed yet though.
The Screwdriver Arc involves basically all of Gintama's main cast and see's them enter the world of online RPG's to try and track down two aliens who have replaced parts of their bodies with screwdrivers.
In the Stand Arc Gintoki, Kagura, Shinpachi and Otae get invited to a hot spring in the middle of nowhere but there is something seriously fishy about the place.
The Yoshiwara Arc is aparrently the final arc which revolves around an underground red-light district run by a member of the Yato clan, who's strength can rival that of Umibozu (the strongest Yato). Kagura's brother is also a main character in this arc.

Episode 106 involves a game of football that most of the main cast in Gintama are forced to take part in because Kagura knocks out all of the other players.
In Episode 109 Yamazaki joins the Joui faction (lead by Katsura) as a spy. It also actually has Jackie Chan as a character and parodies a lot of his films. Absoutely hilarious if you're a fan. :P
In Episode 110 Katsura finally gets captured and is locked up in an isolated prison. The last scene is SO funny I nearly died.
Episode 113 focuses entirely on the Shinsengumi while germs take over their headquaters and eventually all of Edo. One of the funniest episodes ever in my opinion.
Episode 114 is another episode about Hijikata and Matsudaira's daughter. Gorilla 13 and Sogo 13 return.
In Episode 119 a smoking ban is put in place in Edo and Hijikata is forced to leave the planet. The episode turns out to be a huge Dragon Ball Z parody.

Well the synopsis' don't roughly explain what happens, they explain everything that happens in the entire episode! They're not a rough outline, they are a bunch of major spoilers. The Yoshiwara arc has reached it's climax and the episode before the one just released ended on a huge cliffhanger. The synopsis spoils EVERYTHING! What happens, who's dead, who isn't, who dies, EVERYTHING! They ruined the whole final arc for me. **** you, crunchyroll!

Don't start the island arc, the last episode of that hasn't been subbed so it's a pain watching it half complete. Just download the Itou arc, or watch the Screwdriver arc and other random episodes for now. Or just start from episode 129 and catch up to the current episodes then watch the others as they are released. Rumbel aren't exactly known for being fast subbers, so you never know how long it might take them to getting around to finishing the Itou arc despite it's length.

Yeah I've seen Haruhi. It's one of the most enjoyable series I have ever seen, so I'd definitely recommend it. There is also like three different orders to watch it in. Aired order which is non sequential (well half of it is anyway), in chronological order or in the DVD order. I was always told it's best to watch in the aired order, so thats what I watched it in but I don't suppose it matters much. I think Nail watched it in chronological order.

EDIT: It's confirmed, Gintama isn't ending and is going to enter it's fourth season in April. That's another 50 episodes at the least, as long as it doesn't get cancelled. Which it shouldn't! Viva la Gintama!

It will never end. It's already caught up to the manga and is still going strong. The fifth opening is the best in my opinion. :8 Cheers, I worked on that for like a whole day. :P Man, you haven't even gotten to the first proper serious arc yet! The Benizakura arc starts at episode 58. The Kyubei arc starts around episode 75 I think. The Itou arc starts at episode 100 and the Yoshiwara arc starts around episode 140. Plus there are a lot of smaller arcs inbetweem that are just as good. The Benizakura has a lot of insane action, the Kyuubei arc finale is holy **** awesome, The Itou arc is epic as **** and there are no words to explain the Yoshiwara arc. The fight I used in my AMV is just one of many. Gintoki's main fight in that arc is just... wow. Each arc couldn't be any better to be honest. I just want to watch them all again now, haha.

No, that was just a rumour. They actually took advantage of the rumour and dedicated episode 150 to a bunch of fake endings. Take a look at page 17 of this thread (pelase note that the last image I posted has nothing to do with that episode). They tricked everyone it was the last episode but it turned out to be a joke, and a hilarious one at that. :P They confirmed that it would would continue for another year, making it the fourth. It will make it to 200 episodes easily, and then probably continue after that.

Indeed! Episode 160 was damn hilarious! There was a long period of pure comedy episodes after the Itou arc finished. The football episode, the Jackie Chan episode, Katsura's birthday episode, the Shinsengumi germs episode, the prison escape episode, the second mayo episode, etc. I want another huge chunk of hilariousness like that. :D

IT'S NOT A TROLL!

Aniplex confirmed that "a 10 minute short anime of Gintama "Shiroyasha Koutan" will be released on September 30th" aparrently it was shown at Jump Super Anime Tour 2008 but was never released on DVD. It's a trailer of an imaginary Gintama movie.

A long trailer seeing as it's ten minutes long. We won't get exactly what we wanted but at least we'll get a glimpse into Gintoki's past and maybe a movie in the future if this does well.

Oh my god episode 163 was just like watching Hajime no Ippo! Boxing action at it's best! They do like to drag out the endings though don't they. :P Especially during the Yoshiwara arc. I thoguht that arc was going to end but it went on for another two episodes! Doing 1 chapter per episode is risky, it's what Bleach does. Although Gintama manages to pull it off quite well I'd still prefer a full episode with no 'extras'. Although it was still hilarious! Lmao @ the Bleach and Death Note parodies! BUT WHERE THE HELL WAS TAKA-TIN! He went for his dump but never came back! Noooo! Taka-tin! Come back!

Rofl. I'm surprised crunchyroll didn't take them to court. HorribleSubs were real attitude *******. Oh well, it was good while it lasted. Crunchyroll are offering a two week free trial of anime membership so I just signed up for that to watch the new episode of Gintama. Damn I had no idea how good the quality was on crunchyroll, now I look at it the rips were actually terrible. :P

Ive tried the trial and the quality is good. only problem i have is i use to let eps load then id go watch them but if u leave it to long it gets d/c. hopefully that gets fixed but the price aswell isnt that bad. but i wish there was a downloadable version
