View Full Version : I don't know how much more i can take.
Okay well i know you guys always hear me going on about my eczema, but i just cant take it anymore. I dont care about comments really, i just need to vent. Basically ive had it for like 4 years now as 'bad', and i finally thought it was getting better but now its back and i just can't handle it. I didnt go school on thursday coz it was bad, i didnt go school today coz it was bad.
Im not really sure what to say really, it was REALLY bad a couple years ago, to the point of not wanting to move, but now its at the point i can't actually get ready and go out. I wake up, it feels like crap, hurts to move, i just don't bother. If i do manage to get out, im constantly putting cream on my face, worrying about whether its dry or if people notice. IF it is dry, u can notice people just staring at it, and its so god dam annoying. I just can't get out and it annoys me so much. Most days i just think about ending it, but i think no since i've got so much to live for, but whats the point when i feel like crap.
Then theres the one place i actually feel alright, the pc. I dont have to move loads so it doesn't hurt as much. people can't see me, i dont have to worry how i look, and overall its just a huge distraction so that i can just feel 'normal' and don't have to worry about anything. But ofc, im not allowed to stay on it 24/7, so my life just feels generally crap.
But then i have my good days, i feel fantastic and i dont want them to end, but then the next day its back to being horrible and i dont wanna do much and end up sleeping the entire day (like today, woke up at 4pm).
Thats all that i wanted to say really.

my sister has eczema and it used to be really bad when she was younger. but its got much better over the years and its almost cleared up. the doctors were useless though (which i guess you probably know) as all they did was give her cream, occasionally steriod based cream and thats about it.

Steroids help, but they ****** up my mates finger when he only had a little bit, so im not gonna bother with that.

yeah you shouldn't use them a lot, only when its really bad as it thins the skin (so the doctor says). it was hydrocortisone which worked when required to, but not in large/common doses.

my brother had it bad too but what it was that was making it worse was the food he was eating (different soaps can make it worse) but like every week my mum would take note of what he was eating then they found the problem was chesse and he stoped eating chesse and it went away straight away it wasnt a alergic reaction because he went the doctor and the doctor said it was eczema but like what Diirty said the doctors are useless

i have it bad on my legs, mainly thighs but it's spread to my shins now, the last couple of weeks i skipped PE so i didnt have to wear shorts to show it off but we went to this hotel and they had some moisturiser stuff which i stole lmao (as u do) and i put that on it nearly every night for nearly 2 weeks and now its nearly cleared up. Just get some normal moisturiser and try that for a couple of weeks, put it on about once or twice a day and it should get better like mine has :)
hope this helps :D

i'm sure if you look online they'll be some natural remedies for it or something. Natural things are always good for your skin.

Go to the doctor about it as I am sure there is medicine you can take for it. I used to suffer badly from it too. Try wash your face with soap 3 times a day, thats what I do and my face got a lot better. You have to keep the soap on your face for about 5 mins. You can also get those oxy pads and use them once or twice a day.

Its seriously hard to wash my face, since it then makes it feel itchy, then it i most probaly cave in, then it hurts to wash it the next time. etc.
the only time i can really wash my face is in the morning going to school

You can take vitimins for skin and I remember certain foods is good for your skin such as fish is good for the skin and eat less greasy foods too. But I still reccomend you take a visit to your doctor and ask for advice on what is best to eat and drink to clear up the issue.
It sucks, completely or utterly but u need to look on the bright side of things and try and do as much as possible. If u sit in ur house all day then ur going to feel lousy. I know ur saying its really painful but its going to be just as painful outside the house as it is inside. It might be differcult to move but u need to try, u need to build up ur tolerence!
My mate in college has got it really bad. it sometimes flares up all over her face. behind her ears, in her armpits, behind her knees, everywhere. They put her on some new meds a few months back and she had a really bad allergic reaction nd was in hospital for a week/ It sometimes flares up real bad bt she still gets up and drives to college. She carries a huge pot of cream round with her and puts it on all the time and doesnt giv a crud who stares at her. Its painful for her but shes realised that if she just sits at home shel be unhappy. When shes not at college shes at work, when shes not at work shes out on the piss. She lives her life and u need to aswel hun! The only way to take ur mind off it is to be up and out and doing things!! :)

I tried going to school like that at the beginning of year 7 (when it was worse), and it just didnt work.
I do carry around cream with me too and i usually feel crap staying at home all the time, but recently ive actually felt a lot better and probaly be better by friday if not ready for skl on monday

Watch Soul Eater, he is awesome.
On topic - Okay, you just need to ignore those staring at you, stick by your friends. If your hurting, dont go to school simple, dont force yourself through unessecary pain and get someone from your class to fill you in on what happened, if you keep applying cream and such it should clear up when you get older. A girl from my primary school had it and she has literally none now though all the best to you NIAMH

No one really stares directly, but i can tell they're lookin. And thats why i havent gone school this week, my mum agreed that i should just rest, relax and let it clear up. And i probally will try get a friend to fill me in, whos in most of my classes anyway.

Stress can trigger and contribute to eczema you know, and by the sound of it you're ultra stressed. Just relax, stop worrying and do what Paul said, keep applying cream. I used to get bad eczema on my legs when I was like 10 years old but I was just like lol and didn't worry about it, I applied cream and it went within a few weeks. Just cheer yourself up, do things you enjoy, relax, continue apply the cream and it will disappear. To get rid of it, you must forget about it.
