Hmm... I'm not sure about the latest series of Skins. It seems to me like the new writers focus around the '**** and fart' jokes, more than the intricate character-humour of series one and two. Also, the characters seem very unoriginal (i.e. recycled new faces for older characters).

That said... It's still okay to watch, I've just been a bit disappointed thus far.

She is trying to be the loveable crazy chick like Cassie was but she is over-acting it. JJ is also overacting alot. The over-acting on the part of JJ is starting to annoy me - he, like Pandora, as you said, is very forced, and it detracts from what used to be a quite gritty, pseudo-realistic program. It's just... Not as good as it was.

There was an asian/muslim (looking) person in both?
Cook seems quite like the main character in 1 and 2 (tony?) as he pulls lots etc

I love skins but everytime I watch it I feel like I want to get a knife and run up to cook and stab him. Sounds a bit extreme I know but he ruins the whole show for me. He plays a quite large role in each episode and everything about him makes my blood boil. He just has one of those faces I could punch and he doesn't care.

I hate what he did to pandora (sp?), I know it was going to happen as soon as he started playing twister with her. He's just a sex pest tbh:8.

What is with this crazy try-to-hard comedy shoved into a really overly-depressive story that seems to change course at random?

The whole "Search for the Sexxbomb" thing was just stupid. Stupid songs. Stupid acting. Stupid everything.

The story seems to be overly-depressing for Freddie but he just seems to throw away the sub-script of it? His dad PUNCHED him and the next day he acts as if nothing happened yet he seems fine to constantly attack his sister?

Half the time it seems like he hates his sister for disgracing his mum for constanlty banging on about her death but then readily accepts it and everything she took from him like it doesnt matter? Now hes apologising to THEM?!?!

It makes no sense. The story is about him being a black-sheep and he is getting a crap time but hes just taking it like its nothing and changing his mind about things.

And he randomly kisses Effy as if everything between them was that easy to sum-up. HUH???

And now hes just kissed Cook... no reason... now hes crying... just stupid.

Tonights episode was just stupid.

That was so upsetting, I love how Skins has like a really happy episode and then an overly upsetting one. The thing that gets me with Skins and that makes it so unique is that it has a way of really getting to you emotionally. let me talk through your spoiler..
Search for a sexxbomb was just a talent show which the dad overhyped cos he wants his daughter to be successful by all means..
His dad punched some sense into him, after that he was supporting the family and got the balls to tell effy how he feels. Him leaving the skateboard was the turning point.
Effy then was going to tell him how she would only break his heart, which she proved twice later on.
Cook kissed him... I think that was cos Freddie finally stood up for himself.
Best episode of the series so far imo.

They've purposely made her look like that. Anyway, she was like twelve or thirteen when that was taken so it's stupid to use that. It's like in real life Lisa Blackwell (Pandora) is well fit but they make her look stupid and slow because that's her character. Effy's character is a sort of "I don't care" type of person hence her often looking rough.

No, Effy's mum and dad were both in the first two series. The only other character (apart from Effy's parents) to have been in Skins previously is Pandora who was in series two.

No because thats the rubbish thing about this series... everyone I talk to agrees... I just dont care about the characters. The character development was and is appauling. It was almost like there should have been an episode before the first one because episode 1 was boring :$.


let me talk through your spoiler..
Search for a sexxbomb was just a talent show which the dad overhyped cos he wants his daughter to be successful by all means..
His dad punched some sense into him, after that he was supporting the family and got the balls to tell effy how he feels. Him leaving the skateboard was the turning point.
Effy then was going to tell him how she would only break his heart, which she proved twice later on.
Cook kissed him... I think that was cos Freddie finally stood up for himself.
Best episode of the series so far imo.


His sister was egotisical because of that and constantly went on about her mum being dead... which is why Freddie was mocking her like "My mums dead. Vote for me!" in disgust because he hated it. And tbh it just painted her as a bad person and her dad a fool for supporting her.

But then they made Freddie feel like he was the bad person and that was just confusing and badly written. Almost like too many writers tried to write that one plot.

Cook kissing him was stupid and pointless. Freddie didnt react like a normal person would and it was messy.

If thats the peak of this series then im just going to wait for the next one.

I think we cared more about the old cast because we had them for longer. It's pretty much the same plot. Cook's like a mix of Tony and Chris, the one not giving a **** about anyone, doing life for the party's etc. Effy's Michelle being stuck and under appreciated with Cook and Freddie's Sid, secretly loving Cook's missus... obviously they have different personalities and what I've said is quite obvious, but y'know.

I still think Jal's pregnancy in series 2 was a really daring thing to do, it's an issue close to the bone for a lot of people and I don't think they quite want to do that again. But, did you really care about her until series 2? They're building it up again, introducing the characters, their dynamic and their scene, they'll make us care about them more in series 4 then leave us feeling bad for them when they rip their lives apart and start again with some new kids.
