shut up and stop effing moaning about stuff like that. get a life.

Edited by Bolt660 (Trialist Forum Moderator): Please don't be rude.

looks like he skipped over the avoiding the filter bit, and just went straight to rude. Dunno if he got warned/infracted for it but it looks like a fail from a users point of view.

I've been very critical of late but although you're right the moderator singled out here is only a trialist, so only learning :)

i guess he will learn sometime though.

It is actually debateable as to whether that is avoiding the filter. Fricking and fracking are allowed. I do believe Matt was going to ask nvr about this particular example. Personally I do think it goes beyond the acceptable limit.

I don't think effing is the same as fricking and fracking. I think effing is a deliberate breach of the rules.

i should get my FURRRK removed then as i mean't fork after using all those *****.

yeah i would see it as avoiding, as i don't say effing for fricken, i say it for the obvious :P

watch me get infracted for this LOL

Is their any forums were we are allowed to flame without being infracted? would be a good idea if you could remove the filter off one subforum. Where we can just all flame without being infracted for avoiding the filter.

The idea has been put forward many times. I can't see it being considered as flaming goes against the fundamental principles of Habbox.

At the moment mods aren't directed to deal with 'effing' as filter avoidance.

The avoiding filter rule is probably one of the most complex and crazy rules on Habbox Forum.

Personally I believe that we're all mature enough to have the filter removed but I don't believe nvrspk4 supports this idea.

I don't believe that a thread is needed to point out something as minor as this - if it was an error (and it's not) it would be easily resolved by reporting it and letting a super moderator look over it.

I agree with both Catzsy & Immenseman that "effing" probably should come under the avoidance rule however we cannot deal with it until nvrspk4 confirms whether it is or isn't.

Recently the word "shiz" was confirmed as avoiding the filter (apologies for doing it there - it's an example) so hopefully 'effing' will be the next one to be classified.

i agree with removing the filter, personally i'd never use filtered words directed straight at someone, i'd use it to show emotions (mainly anger) at something, and im not going to go, "Oh thats ruddy ridiculous" if i dislike something.

Agreed.

Obviously some would abuse it however mods aren't here for no reason.. I'm sure we could deal with it :P

Afterall if someone says "you ******* *****" it's going to get removed whether it's asterisks or letters.

Well, I'm very sorry about that mistake. I am still learning, and the User just got a friendly pm for that instance.

I hope you reported the post using the http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj275/bolt660/report.gif button, as it then would have been looked at by a super moderator and would have been dealt with, if there was bad content. I am not the only moderator in that section, and we work as a team, so surely other moderators/super moderators would have viewed that post too?

The Only other Trial I am on right now is News, and to be honest when you have plenty of free time, it really is fine to have 2 trials at once, and if I believe I can offer them plenty of my time, then I think I should be permitted to do so.

Once again I am very sorry that this error of Judgement on my behalf has caused you so much concern. I will do my best to up my game from this point forward.

Occasionly there will be things which mods don't pick up on. We are all Human, and sometimes mistakes are unnavoidable.

Sorry Once again.

I see it like this. If when I went to school I said fricking hell I wouldn't have been told off. If I said effing hell I probably would have done.

In general I don't think the filter should be removed. We'd be subject to a lot more swearing which doesn't create a nice atmosphere across the board. Makes it look a very daunting place to new members if there were swear words in every other post.

Don't use Habbo as an example - that isn't a forum. On Habbo Forums, the official sulake ran one there is still a filter. On habbo you see the swear word for about 30 seconds on here you'd see it until the thread was inactive, which could be months.

Is effing really that bad? It isn't avoiding the filter either, it's using an alternative word, which is fine provided it isn't done in malice. Which it wasn't.

dogboy123

I think with allowing some words as not avoiding the filter will cause arguments and stretching of the rules. So I think if your going to ban one as avoiding then you have to ban others like it

I've always viewed effing as avoiding the filter; Ive always edited for it when I was a mod and I've always seen it dealt with when I've reported a post. Considering f***ing is classed as avoiding the filter, and that and effing are essentially the same way, I don't see the contest tbh. I don't see it as a major ballsup from a trialist though :P

Sounds like its all good now anyway :)

WOW, the stuck up-ness really does come through, even on a post on the forum from most of you. :S Rant over about being stuck up.

it's difficult, effing can't really be said to anyone, so doesn't really hurt anyone... it'd just make the person saying it look silly. effing is kinda like a shorter version of ******* so yh.

uhm, and about the filter being removed... bad idea.

effing should be considered as avoiding the filter. Effing is the same as putting F'ing or F***ing which is breaking the rules and warning/infractionable.

And I better not get an infraction for this post either.

just because you're getting older, as are many of the forum members, it doesn't justify the reason to put swearing after every single word. there really is no need to swear...

Correct, swearing can make it a bad atmosphere and I hardly think swearing throughout the forum would make it a nice place. So that is why you aren't allowed.
