Will anyone else go and see this?

Personally I think the whole 2012 dooms day thing is all a load of rubbish but the director of this movie directed both 'The Day After Tommorow' and 'Independence Day' both films I love so I have a feeling this could be quite good :)

Roland Emmerich is a hack who has never delivered on anything in his career. See his last film: critical flop 10,000 B.C. - this will inevitably be a CG car crash.

At above: What is that supposed to mean?

I think this film looks incredible to be honest, i will definitely go see it.

Misawa, I love CGI but obviously you prefer the raw acting with a tiny bit of CGI? Which is fair enough tbh, I wouldn't complain... but this looks quite decent. No doubt it'll become a over-played film on ITV2 on the movie weeknight films. Like Day After Tommorow. :P

This looks like a pretty amazing film and am deffo going to watch it.

I don't know why but misawa, your starting to get on my nerves just 'cause you seem to think you know everything. not starting an argument ti just comes across like that. sorry.

Of course it looks awesome, it's the trailer, and it looks epic on all levels - yet every single one of Roland Emmerich's films do. That's what he does, he makes films based around epic subjects, yet he has never ever delivered. He is one of Hollywood's most hated directors.

Lost, I don't know "everything", nor have I ever claimed to do, that would be idiotic. Yet, when it comes to film, without blowing my own horn too much and just being honest, I know a hell of a lot.

thats [erfectly fine, i do that on many levels when i know a hell of a lot on somthing hehe. it just comes across a bit arrogant.

But i have to say independece day has been one of the best films i have ever seen and is highly acclaimed. not so much The day after tommoz but that is still a highly respectable film. so that is why im looking foraward to this. :D

Misawa

Highly acclaimed? :S I've never heard that from anyone. At best I've seen it classed as an average flick. In all honesty, the first half an hour is really great, showing brilliant promise, and then it just goes straight down the toilet. But as long as you like it.

Trailer looks amazing.

However, I don't want to watch something I'm very uneasy about as a subject all ready. But knowing me, I'm gonna go see it anyway.

Edit:
Lmao, just saw the clip of Times Square with the President giving a speech. Trying to keep up with showing a black President? You wouldn't have done this 10 years ago and given him a different name...

Everybody has different opinions of films and not everyone is going to like everything! So maybe disaster movies are not your thing, i assure you i could find a heck of alot of people who think they are good films.

Deep Impact had a black president. :P

I'm sure you could, but the fact still remains that every one of his films have been a critical flop.

And yet he keeps getting work that pays big bucks. Oh the I can smell the jealously from the south.

Hahaha, on the contrary, I'd rather make a good film than have as much money as he.

You're really gullable. He's basically an ass man. He might make it, he might not. My guess is the latter. As I said, if he makes a better film than Independence Day then I'll admit I was wrong. Until then, I'm right.

That trailer is epic, I love the symbology when the ceiling of the the Sistine Chapel cracks right in between God and Adam, brilliant!

Should still watch it and November the 13th.

Some good advertising gone into it, I visit sky news and a massive box across the whole screen on their front page is there movie, as well as a box along the side of the page. This is really going to help the people who are franchising the end of the world on 2012.

Prob why you need bodyguards

Dunno what's happening to me I keep agreeing with Misawa about films... this truly looks terrible. Went to see Doctor Penis or whatever yesterday and 2012 was in a trailer, just nothing good in sight. Landmark buildings fall down, there's a volcano, some dude tries to save his family, it's your basic apocalypse film with absolutely nothing extra thrown in except for *~+*SPECIAL EFFECTS*+~*

I've noticed that. Most people do make trailers look amazing to make poeple go see it. They usually don't end up being that intense or great.

Doesn't anyone else think the title is a fail right there? I mean, unless it's taken from something in real life, they could have picked a different year. 2012 just makes me think 'Olympics' every time. Do what the trailer says, search '2012' and look at the first result :P.

Anyway, I thought Independence Day was only good because of Will Smith, and the little I've seen of The Day After Tomorrow bored me. This could be good though if they haven't gone overboard with action, and I just realised, I wish Barack Obama was a movie star!

If I'm honest, although I can imagine why people get fed up with Misawa, I've never seen a post from him I disagree with and he does know his stuff.

It's based around the ancient prophesy that the world will end in 2012 so it wouldn't make a lot of sense for them to give it a different year
