I ordered the latter from tronixcomputers and they sent me an email saying would i rather have the top one as theres no 9750 in stock - Im wanting to know - would it be better?

or are there any cheaper better ones what i should know about?

I am primarily looking for a quad core am2 socket with more than 2.3ghz

Second this, graphics card model numbers are really confusing and misleading when you first see them. You see a 9400 and an 8800 in the shop next to each other and think "ooh 9400 must be better its higher!" So yeah... :P
