    Default which cpu is better....

AMD Phenom Quad Core 9650 2.30Ghz

    or

AMD Phenom Quad Core 9750 2.40GHz

I ordered the latter from tronixcomputers and they sent me an email saying would i rather have the top one as theres no 9750 in stock - Im wanting to know - would it be better?

or are there any cheaper better ones what i should know about?

I am primarily looking for a quad core am2 socket with more than 2.3ghz

Well obviously not since it is the lesser model in AMD's Phenom Quad Core series.

    Same CPU, lower clock speed.

    No it's not better.

But marginally. You won't feel the difference of 100MHz.

Second this, graphics card model numbers are really confusing and misleading when you first see them. You see a 9400 and an 8800 in the shop next to each other and think "ooh 9400 must be better its higher!" So yeah...
