.... Buy? What is this thing you mention? Apple don't buy things, don't be absurb! :O They steal and pay for it in law suits :D

Apple already have the patent for anything beginning with i. Most isotopes are quaking in their little atomic boots!

Fortunately I've a lot of time on my hands so I'm going to go through the predictions and see how they've gone. Obviously I'm not perfect and I'm not in the loop with tech news as much as I was so feel free to point out where I'm wrong or you disagree with me :)

The Professor (Alex) said I'm welcome to do this btw seeing as he cba with hxf anymore...

Big thanks to Recursion for doing this with me :D

I'll start off:

Myspace will be closed down or bought by an obscure company and will be never be heard from again
Apple will release a tablet computer which will fail on its arse
We will see a glimpse of one of the next generations of games console
Windows mobile will take a massive market share hit and will be released on very few new phones by december
Opera desktop browser will increase it's market share
Half life 2 episode 3 won't come out

Not done very well there I'm afraid! Myspace has hung on although it's more a music social network now. The iPad seems very successful, Windows Mobile/Phone has yet to impact the Market Share. No glimpses of next generation consoles yet and Opera going no where it seems.

iphone will stop being a fad.It still is a fad as I'm concerned.

Almost every PC will come with a touch screen
Android and webOS will start to become key mobile OSs, and by the end of year will be starting to catch up with the iPhone.
Vodafone might actually give its customers free access to Facebook!
An iPhone will be launched in June, with a better camera, and hopefully multi-tasking. A new Nano will be announced in September, in several horrible colours, probably with a 2MP or 3.2MP camera. along with an iPod touch (likely with camera, and 128Gb storage space), and a bigger iPod Classic (250Gb), and a shuffle, which will be higher capacity and smaller (up to 16Gb).
Quad-core processors will be standard in most £4-500 PCs.
Netbooks will get thinner, faster, better spec'd, cheaper, and will stop using that god awful Windows 7 starter edition
Twitter will see a HUGE increase in usage, Facebook won't, and Myspace and Bebo will be nearly dead.
There will be a HUGE rise of interest in Spotify.
OLED prices will drop significantly.
Nvidia will launch a DX11 chip very late in the year, if not in 2011.
AMD will have a 6-core processor nearly ready to sell
Blu-ray recorders will fall under £200, and players under £50
More and more places will provide free Wi-Fi
The Rickroll will be effectively dead, and will have been replaced with some other mistake (probably Kanye West at the VMAs)
Freeview HD.
One 3D channel on Sky, probably on its own little extortionately priced package
There will be a mobile phone readily available for £5.
2Tb will be the norm for HDD storage.

Some good guesses there although a lot are quite vague and predictable. Kudos on the iPhone and iPod Nano guesses!

Google Voice takes over Skype in the US, and possibly the UK depending on whether it's released over here
Apple's tablet will be surprisingly popular, forcing other manufacturers to begin making them (Dell tablet anyone?)
Netbooks sales will drop as laptop prices lower and smartphones become more capable
Android over takes iPhone marketshare
Once again, no significant changes will be made to the iPhone or iPod Touch. Presumably just some minor OS changes and Disk Space increased
Windows Mobile 7 develops considerably interest towards the end of the year
Successor to both the Wii & Xbox 360 announced or leaked during the year, although it might be a year or two until somethings actually released
Google Chrome OS fails as there's no real need for it despite it being a great idea
Twitter usage will decline and might be bought by a large firm, eBay, Google, Microsoft, News Corporation, one of them :P
Google Wave will do very well and improve a lot

Hmm well I did alright there in parts but terrible in others. For instance Google Wave was a complete and utter disaster and scrapped very soon.

Apple will release it's own line of touchscreen computers. They will charge about £3,000 for this.
iPhone contracts will stay the same.
A new generation of iPhone's will be released
Many computers will come with 2TB storage
i7 Processors will much more common in Dell computers
Intel Quad-Core will be the norm in new computers
Alienware will release a new touchscreen gaming PC
More online storage
Habbox will have 200 more members offering crap hosting
Google Wave will finish BETA stage
Sky will offer 3D channels
Sky+3D will be released, offering HD and 3D channels
Googles new computer OS will be a hit, but not many computer companys will install the OS onto there computers
All new touchscreen phones will have an APP store
OLED will become a more popular buy.
Plasma Screen TV's will be the norm in many houses

Apple WON'T start charging there prices in the UK
Sony Vaio laptops WON'T become boring

My little input :)Good effort, you've done alright there!

Myspace get's sold and the owners cash in on what used to be a good site.
Blackberrys will rule.
Xboxs drop more in price.
Gears 3 will be fail if it comes out.
Twitter will gradually become less popular.

I'll also +rep for playing.Blackberrys are doing better but are far from ruling yet!

More of something i've heard rather than a prediction.. but all phone chargers will be universal.. for example you could have the same charger for a samsung, nokia, or lg etc.
maybe they'll do it with other things too.. like laptops or whatevz?Hasn't happened yet but it should do very soon!

Google Chrome OS will fail.
Firefox will be dominating in browsers
Microsoft Office 2010 will rule
Phone chargers will be better yeah, EU decided that.

GPRS will come built into most phones
mybb will become bigger than VBulletin
A massive error will be found in windows 7
Laptops will become illegal due to it leaving 3rd degree burns
Google will take over facebook
Twitter will fail

I think this thread is a good idea soo +repGPRS already was built into most phones and Google was already bigger than Facebook.

There will be a wireless charger for laptops/ power for pc's
There will be a new version of bluetooth on phones to make faster transfers
Apple will allow people to drag and drop files onto ipods without having to use itunes
Bill Gates will die suddenly
Sony Ericsson will get sued for having such unreliable phones

Hmm not bad!

XBox will have a portable version

A new high-end gaming console will be released

Largest LCD screen will come out (Most likely)

Apples products will get much more expensive

A new Apple TV

Good shout with the new Apple TV but the rest were a bit too ambitious.

Google Chrome OS will flop big time, consumers don't want private data stored on servers, current 3G network providers don't have the capacity and there will be no applications for it.
YouTube will actually begin dishing out 'proper' 1080p video services
OnLive on demand gaming services will flop due to latency problems and download limits
Gran Turismo 5 will FINALLY come out.. maybe?
Android will begin to take sizable chunks out of iPhoneOS' user base
Apple will release a tablet PC that will fail due to a terribly huge pricetag
Android Eclair 2.0 or 2.1 will come out for the T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream)
Twitter will expand it's current services, in some ways users will love, in others, users will hate
MySpace will take it's final blow and get off the social networking scene
Sky will start charging for news, lose huge user base
Core i9 will flop due to it's oldest and older brothers, i7 and i5
The UK government will start making the UK's internet services worse in some shape or form
The Mini-USB phone charging standard will finally come into play
Office 2010 is released, absolutely pwning iWork, OO.O, or any other office system
SSDs will drop in price significantly

Spotify will become ever more filled with adverts
Apple will lose against Nokia in their law suits
4G phone networks still wont start rolling out in the UK, let alone a proper 3G network infrastructure, O2 go begging other carriers for network help when the iPhone finally kills them
Touchscreen computing will fail horribly
The BBC news website will still be terrible for Technology related news
Engadget will still bum out Apple to a rediculous extent
Project Natal will be delayed
Broadband will be just as slow for rural areas like where I live

Just about all I can think of right now.Best so far I thought, some fairly decent guesses!

Apple to standardise prices again, reaching downwards to £500 for the cheapest iterations of Macbook.
iPhone to be released in June, 5 megapixel camera, multi-tasking and improved UI, as well as aesthetic changes and slimmer and thinner, possibly with a larger/higher definition screen.
Microsoft to lose further market share, Internet Explorer market share to drop under 60%
Linux to make a possible foothold in the Netbook line, as well as rumours of Google Chrome OS
Google Phone January 5th
Google to further monopolize the technology market.
Google and Apple to possibly invoke huge problems.
Saying 'touchscreen is going to be a standard' is incredibly unrealistic, but Apple's touchscreen device, either the iSlate or the iGuide to be announced possibly January 22nd, as a 10" touchscreen tablet computer capable of running applications in a similar fashion to the iPhone.
24" Monitors to become a basic standard.
Windows 8 to be announced already.
Possibly a new iteration of Mac OS to be announced, likely with the name 'Lion' or 'Cougar'.
Google to announce world domination.

http://tekcube.net/internet/firefox-4-delayed-late-2010early-2011/

fairly unlikelyBest so far, very good guesses!

- Apple will fail miserably by continuing to be ignorant to consumer demands and prices
- Microsoft will withdraw from it's mobile operating system devision and wont be a contestant until they've built a lightweight version of the full on Windows
- Google will buy out hardware manufactures to produce their own mobile devices
- Palm will fold
- Nokia and Motorola will merge
-internet will become a right in america and cellular service in north america will become more reasonable and affordable for the consumer
- we will eventually have small mobile devices with always on data, and we will be able to connect them to external displays and devices just by going near them.
- intel processors will get stupid smallGood in parts, very wrong in others.

3D TV's and most tvs will be able to connect to to wi-fi!Not many TVs connecting to wi-fi yet unfortunately.

Vodafone are now giving users free access to Facebook (well its technically the cost of texts, but still)

Close enough on the Blu-Ray Player here: http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.208-6218.aspx

I'm glad I did well, though.

So who's doing the 2011 one?

My prediction of almost everything being revealed at CES was correct :P

I'll go with the same prediction next year.
