If you want my opinion, if its bright blue or anything other than the tinted white/blue headlights don't bother. It will only cause you grief.

Basically, blue and red is a no no as you will look like a copper. But I wouldn't suggest a tube either. Keep them on the inside and you'll be fine, if your putting them outside then expect some problems. All my mate's put their light's inside.

yes, they're legal to use when driving, and imo all aftermarket car lighting (neons, daytime running lights, lexus lights, etc) look gash.

Na there not aloud, I think its kinda stupid though because you must be in stevie wonders position to mistake a car with blue neon lights with a copper.

Yeh but some coppers are idiots lol They'll pull you over for any excuse they can find.

I thought they were illegal, but if tdi says they're not then I'd accept that but like people have said, you'll get loads of grief from the bizzies either way. If your windows look too dark or your headlights look to bright, they'll pull you for any excuse cos they'll assume they'll uncover other things when they search your car or whatever. I got pulled because my car was old and "easy to get into" so they assumed I'd robbed it. ;l

That's a stupid way to pull you over -.- they have nothing better to do.

yeah, thats exactly right isnt it

you should probably put all lighting on the inside if you dont want trouble from the feds.

I didn't think you were even allowed interior lighting. Definitely not blue anyway.

I think only a certain amount of lighting is allowed inside.

You should be fine as long as you don't blind the other driver's xD

not allowed blue neons in the UK there reserved for emergancy services in the UK and can cause confusion (my mate learnt this the hard way).

As for Orange neons i think there also reserved for breakdown and maintance your gonna have to check with a shop that sells them i think Green is safe to have also Pink or yellow.

To be fair, exterior neons look so pathetic and are no way worth the hassle you'll inevitably get from the bizzies for what (I'm guessing) are expensive to buy and fit.

I didn't think green was allowed because ive seen some doctor vehicle's with green light.

It's hard to get the correct lighting without getting into trouble. Personally I wouldn't bother with neon's, but it all depends where about you want the neon's?

Okay.. I 'sort of' retract my comment.. It seems as if it's a bit of a legal grey area as I had a bit of a scout about and there's mixed responses on it..
Some people are saying as long as you can't see the tube, then it's fine.. other people saying that it's legal while driving and can get a £30 fine for it.. and read somewhere that with it being a grey area you can get stopped and get a number of things handed to you.. Vehicle Defect form (get em removed, get it stamped by MOT station), getting fines, even taken to court.. With it being a grey area it's difficult to contest the matter.

My advice would be just don't get them, or even if you do.. Just switch them off when you're driving along and don't get caught.

Yeah and I imagine because of traffic lights too.

At the end of the day, it depends on what sort of copper you get pulled over by. If he's a **** then you're screwed.

found this on the internet

under car lighting can dance on the edge of legality. Fitting a lamp/light that shows other than white light to the front or red to the rear is an offence.

I guess but you would have to be the most stupid driver to not know the difference between a green traffic light and a car having a tube under the car.
