Hello! After some stragety, help from random.org and constant nagging from matty, the groups and fixtures for the The HXF Cup January 2010 have been produced!

Structure
Each contestant will play 2 matches against 2 different players in their group. These have been decided randomly using a generator. After all the matches have been played (details on when to play and how to submit result; see bottom) the contestant with the least points (3 points for win, no draws; extra time then pens) of each group will be eliminated leaving 8 contestants for the quarter final stage. Below are the fixtures.

Organising Your Match
The 2 matches above you are involved with can only take place after Monday 8th February 2010 - 12am, and before Friday 12th February - 11.59pm. (practice matches are welcome outside of these dates)You have to get in touch with the contestants you are up against and arrange a date. GamerTag information can be found in THIS THREAD. You need to then play a RANKED Fifa 10 match over Xbox Live choosing any LEGITIMATE team you want.

After you have had your match you need to submit a Match Report using the template below, and Private message it to AlexOC If for any reason you are unable to PM (a caution) post in the thread..

Because its the simplest and easiest way to organise a cup with 10 people. Its the only way to get it down to 8 for a knockout.

Mathew, you have been against this cup for the start, you moaned and moaned, so i proceeded to making the fixtures with 10 people, i found the easiest way to do it was doing a small group style stage with 2 matches each, its a quick effective way of narrowing it down to 8 so we can do a standard knockout. If you would like to leave then be my guest.

After much thought, i decided it would be better if we just use any team we want, seeing as everybody will pick a 5 star or 4 and a half team it will keep it moderately fair.

And i want all matches to be played Monday - Friday and people might need today (sunday) to organise their matches, i've given a day for people to get it all ready.

Match Report: Niether was clinical at finishing and both wasted multiple golden chances early on. TickTockTickTock took the lead in the first half through tevez who made a neat run inside and passed to ball across goal. Almost instantly I scored an equalizing free kick through the left foot of renato, just outside the box after being brought down.

He then took the lead again after Fabiano gave the ball away through a terrible touch and he countered quickly, slotting the ball home. Again, soon after an equalizer was scored, this time Fabiano made up for the earlier mistake after latching onto a quick through ball and placing the ball past Given.

The game went to extra time and it was only in the last five minutes that i was able to steal it after doing some short passes around the area, passing it through to kanoute who turned and smashed it into the bottom corner.

Overall, evenly matched game, went well.

Cant C&P this because for some reason HxF hates me. So all the same details as Smits give and take apart from the fact he makes my goals sound fluky. Second goal came straight from kick off in the second half, he didnt touch the ball till he was kicking off in the 48th minute!!

His goal came in the 118th minute after a failed passed which pissed me off no end & his initial freekick (1:1 goal) came from one of those crap fouls the ref gives when you hold A and sprint. Good game though.
