basically i am trying to change one of my .wav files to .mp3 but i dunno how I've read some things on the internet saying you have to get a converter do you HAVE to use a converter or is there an easier way ? without having to use itunes either
The easiest way i came across was using a converter, try this one (http://www.wav-mp3.com/convert_wav_mp3.htm).

You can do it through ITunes, or you can download a convertor. If you have ITunes then you should be able to just drag it in and convert it. I can't remember EXACTLY. But it's what I used to do.

Go into the CD Burning preferences in iTunes and tell it to use MP3 (Yes, I did say CD Burning) then just drag the .wav file into iTunes and it will convert it to MP3

Or you can use Audacity:
Load the wave into Audacity (100% free),
Click on File > Export as MP3,
Choose bitrate and music name, etc,
Select where to save the file,
Done.
Enjoy!
