Yo,
I'm about to book 4 train tickets Manchester > Blackpool but it says they're 'off peak' - what the hell do they class as on peak and off peak because it doesn't say anywhere.
Also the time you select when booking, do you have to get on that EXACT train or can you get on any off peak train that day?

Off peak is normally after 9:00am, different prices.

If you book a train with a specific time you have to get on that train you cant get on another.
Some tickets have no time but just a date and you can get on any train to that destination at any time of day.

Right if I did this, it says "Anytime" - say I missed the time I have selected can I not just get the next one?

Offpeak is anytime after 9-10ish and after 6pm (for me anyway). (:

Nope thats offpeak return.
Think that means you have to get that time to where your going but can get any train home within the next month.

off-peak is basically dont go when work starts and finishes...
But ive gone on those several times with an off-peak return and they were fine with it.

Peak time is roughly 7am-10am and 5pm-7pm, if you buy off peak tickets you won't be able to travel during these hours. Peak time tickets will be significantly more expensive though.

off peak is after 9:30

Nope, Peak start from (4:30am in London) 5:30am - 9:30am some less busy service will beable to use an off peak ticket during this time.
off-peak Return ticket and vaild from a month after your travel on the return part of your trip :)
And as for if you miss your train you can travel on the next OFF PEAK sevice :)
some Train Operating Companies have Evening weekday ticket restrictions these start nomally from about 3:30pm - 18:30 (some stop before this whichy will be stated ) and i only know of 5 train companies which operating this.
