Just curious to know why staff always remove their -reps :s? Even if it is for a good reason?

I don't remember ever removing any -rep myself. Although I have reported a few in the past.

All the users report pointless negative rep, not just staff :S

This. If I genuinely have a problem with it (e.g. it's a pointless rep, sometimes their reason actually contridicts their own post) then I will report it. If I don't (which all of my posts are constructive etc), then I won't.

I personally think Brandon should not remove every single rep reported.. I love the guy but you just have to write "pointless" and he will remove it :(

If this is the case, it would be nice to have a look through the thread first, if he doesn't already.

It shouldn't be removed if the -rep was issued for a good reason. Brandon only removes pointless/unnecessary ones.

He does not remove every single reputation reported, and staff cannot remove their own reputation. Additionally your role at Habbox has no influence on the probability of Brandon removing the reputation (how do I know? I've had reputation not removed in the past, and disputed the situations with Brandon :P)

I know for a fact that brandon only removes reputation he believes breaks the reputation rules

It should just be left, I've reported it in the past but it's stupid to get so bent out of shape about it.

I -repped HotelUser for breaking the rules, it seems it was removed :S.

your negative reputation did not get removed, because it was more than fair :)

I guess you had mine removed even though it was valid as you broke the rules .

Maybe you should say managers. :P I have never gotten my -rep's removed and I know quite a few normal staff don't get them removed either. I do see lots of managers doing it though.

The probability of Brandon removing a manager's negative reputation is the exact same as the probability that they'll remove a negative reputation of anyone else. We're hardly special!

Inseriousity.

I've never had my -rep removed, they've always been fair imo. But if I didn't think they were fair, I'd try to get it removed like every other user should (if they care about rep!)

Surely the 'revenge rep' excuse is starting to wear a little thin though! :P

Well that's the thing, I don't report -reps which are fair because it wastes my time, it wastes Brandon's time. Also I disagree with your "Managers" statement because tbh, there's less of us and I actually think the same percentage do report them, the frequency doesn't matter as I have only had around 4 -rep's I think (oi no -repping me pointlessly now).

Obviously. I guess that's why you have been banned for pointless -repping me and not the other way around eh?

I have only ever had 1 negative rep ;) But that seemed to be removed so now I have 0 even though I didn't report it. Strange!

The only interesting thing about this thread is where Blinger got the idea that staff (who can) remove their own -rep?

I can't imagine that it is that important to them and if pointless they would post in the thread to get it removed the same as anybody else.

People complain that too much -rep gets removed, I'm pretty sure users have tons of pointless +rep that doesnt get removed. But it says in the thread any type of rep that is pointless will get removed

I currently have two -reputations from both Mathew and Richard which were not removed and fairly so :)

I have -repped garion and oli before, one was recently, and it seems I can rep that person again.. I certainly have not repped 15/20 other people since then..

And @dogboy, I got branbran to remove a +rep last time since it was for no reason whatsoever. I didn't even answer their question : S

If a certain member of staff gets -repped for a reason they know is completely pointless, instead of using up more of Brandon's time I see no reason why they shouldn't just go ahead and remove it. If it was a -rep that said something like "thanks for the -rep here is yours" or "you're gay" then it's obvious that Brandon would remove that so like I said, to save Brandon's time, if they have the power to do so then why not remove it themselves? If however it is something a little more complicated, to avoid possibly cheating the system they should definitely post in the reputation thread to get it properly looked at to decide whether or not is should be removed.

Okay well I guess you could have a point then. :)

General management and admins can remove -rep. I used to remove all my -rep all the time, there is no point in lieing about it.

I think it should be monitored and Administrator logs checked as this is clear power abuse. Administrators are not above members and should be warned for such power abuse. Many admins turn it into +rep which is ridiculous too.

I don't think any administrator would do that.

I appreciate your concern but I have no idea where you get the evidence for this.

Sorry I don't mean current ones as I have no proof of that, but many have done in the past and admitted to it - maybe Eckuii can back me up here.

As I said in my earlier post, I don't mean current admins. My post was poorly worded, but I am just saying admins in the past have done it, so it would be a good idea to monitor it.

Yeah I think Matt has summed it up here, I think that the admins here know that it's not right to do that and won't do it. :P

I actually thrived on changing my -rep to +rep. The more -rep I got, the better it was overall :).

Then I would -rep back and reduce 15 points I think it was, and wouldn't remove it. Because I used to deal with that too. Loll

Brandon even removes pointless +rep, I know from past experience. :P

From my own personal experience, the only person who has removed +reps from me was Nick-. He removed 600+ rep points, I almost died.
MattGarner gave me a revenge -rep recently but I got that removed! :(
