Considering I made the past 2 official x factor threads, I may aswell make another...
everything x factor related should be posted in here :) (Hopefully it'll be stickied like usual)

It returns on the 21st August (Less then 2 wks time) - its came around pretty fast.

looks like cheryl is gonna be mentoring the groups this year, but no doubt the groups will be EXTRA strong this year considering every group cheryl gets seems to be consistently strong (just by chance 8-))

Lol couldn't be further from the truth in my opinion.

It's good that they're finally making an effort with the groups but it just goes to show how much it is about the judges now and how much of a media machine it is. Cheryl is supposed to be the judge for the groups and this year Simon Cowell has decided to make an effort to give the group a fighting chance of someone ''winning'' which even from this early stage you could probably almost bet that a group will either win or make it to the final three this year.

Sharon Osbourne is set to make a dramatic return to 'The X Factor' two years after she quit the show.

The former judge will return to help Louis Walsh during the Judges' Houses round of the ITV series.

Sharon quit 'The X Factor' after four series in 2008 because she didn't want to work alongside fellow judge Dannii Minogue.

A friend of Louis told The Sun: "Sharon knows she's only back for one episode and is determined to stir things up and make mischief.

"Louis is absolutely delighted she is coming back. He has dearly missed having her around."

Meanwhile, Louis has revealed that he almost left the show last week when he found out the category he would be mentoring this year.

He told RTE: "I'm not happy with my category. I nearly walked last week when they gave me my category. The girls are having an easy job. They weren't even there for all the auditions."

It is not yet known which group he will mentor this year, but he has been given the groups for four out of the previous six series.

Sharon is expected to start filming later this week.

But the show has been hit by controversy after dozens of viewers realised several hopefuls auditioning for a place in the next stage of the contest had had their vocals enhanced by computer.

Bosses of the show have now admitted using Auto-Tune to correct off-key singing - but insist it was only applied in the editing suite after the auditions took place, to enhance the sound for TV viewers.

A spokesman for The X Factor says, "The judges make their decisions at the audition stage based on what they hear on the day live in the arena. The footage and sound is then edited and dubbed into a finished programme."

Supermarket worker Mary Byrne takes to the stage in tomorrow night’s show to sing Shirley Bassey’s I Who Have Nothing.

And X Factor boss Simon Cowell believes the curvy 45-year-old could win the competition after stunning the judges in Dublin.

Wiping away tears, Cheryl, left, tells Mary, who comes from the Ballyfermot area of the Irish capital, she was stunned by the “incredible power and emotion” of her performance.

Thing I love about her is she actually has massive potential if she wins. A british hip-hop/R&B girl with a huge record deal. She'd be working with the top writers and producers - it'd be something different from the same old-same old popstars that are being churned out by the X-Factor. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Alexandra Burke and Leona Lewis and I liked some of the songs Shayne Ward put out but she's different and I like that, and so do a massive amount of the public. Yeah, X-Factor is primarily searching for the generic next pop superstar but what's wrong with being adventurous? :D I'll be shocked if she isn't in the live shows - she's one to watch :P

A COCKY wannabe shocks Simon Cowell on tonight’s X Factor when he claims he is bigger than Madonna.

Sparks fly when Italian-born Nicolo Festo bursts on to the stage at the auditions.

The 21-year-old claims he could be “a legend” and even better than both Madonna and Lady GaGa.

He says: “I want to be an icon. I want to be someone who gives people goosebumps at the mere mention of my name.

“Nobody has everything – the look, the style, the attitude and the voice. I could be that guy.”

After Nicolo’s performance of A Song For You, Cowell admits the lad has something unusual to offer.

He says: “I like you because you’re weird and I mean that as a compliment.”

The audition highlights for the ITV1 show come from Cardiff where Pixie Lott, 19, is a guest judge.

Boyband FYD manage to impress judges Louis Walsh, 57, and Cheryl Cole, 27. But cinema usher Paije divides the panel.

After singing Fly Me To The Moon, Cowell and Cheryl call him “a wedding singer”. But Louis likes him.

Girl group Bun and Cheese strike a bum note after singing Beyoncé’s Listen.

Cheryl tells them: “I can’t work out if they’re doing it for a laugh, like you’ve been dared by your friends.”
