No matter how much sleep I get, I always seem to be tired. Is there anyway to stop me from feeling tired?

I used to have this all the time, I think its just laziness tho.

What I did was I went out, exercised, drank loads of energy drinks lol and it sorta faded away.

Just try and get more and more sleep each night until you start feeling awake again, also in the morning rub water over your eyes or summet. :)

Drinking energy drinks won't help, especially in the long run. Try and wake up at a consistent time. No matter what time you go to bed, wake up at the same time next morning (which I know is very hard to do, but it makes a big difference). Also, it's not always about getting more sleep. If you get too much you still end up feeling sluggish.

E.T.A: I forgot to say, going to bed at a consistent time also seems to help me.

No matter during the holidays the latest time i've woken up is like half 9, I can't have lie-ins. So I would say that I already wake up at a consistent time but it's hard to go to bed at the same time every night because I can only sleep when i'm really tired and I know this might sound weird but i'm more awake at night and I find it harder to sleep

I swear you can become tired from too much sleep? I swear I read this somewhere. Just try going to bed a bit earlier every night or go out during the day because if you are in the house you are more likely to want to sleep!

OMG SAM YOUR LIKE ME! WOOP
But yeah it is annoying. i always feel tired.

Havn't tried sleeping pills yet? hmmph
i think tiredness has something to do with the movement in the bed while you sleep as your brain is still active :)

But don't take my words for granted. :P

You could be anemic if you don't eat a lot of meat or get alot of iron. That would make you tired no matter how much sleep you've gotten.

I'm probably wrong but I remember watching something where the girl was tired all the time and it was because she had anemia, one of the symptoms is a feeling of fatigue. Could try googling it and having a read.
If you persist in feeling tired you might want to see a doctor, just so they can tell you what the cause is. :)

Believe it or not, too much sleep makes you tired - I also have a problem with this. Try to get around 7-9 hours sleep a night. Too much more or too little is bad for you in the long run.

How many hours of sleep do you get a night? if it's more than 10 its cause of that.

Yeah Sarah, I know that but I wouldn't say that I have too much sleep! Thanks

I've heard something about your body working in 7 hour cycles. If you get under 7 hours you're tired, and if you go over then you're tired.

No idea how true it is :P

So you have to have exactly 7 hours?

Something like that. I know that if I go to bed at midnight and get up at 7 I feel refreshed.. but if I stay in till 8 then I feel crap.
I suppose it differs for different people.

Samantha.

Thats weird, surely people can't just have exactly 7 hours!

wow some people are dumb lol, as a matter of fact its better to get TOO LITTLE sleep than it is to sleep too much. if you're tired when you wake up dont assume its because you need more sleep that will make it worse.

if its really a problem, go to bed and wake up at the same times every day, even weekends. the routine will give you so much more energy.

when you sleep your body goes through stages, if you interupt one of those stages you'l feel like **** when you get up (il try look for source)

also blood sugar levels and cycling carbs are other causes.

I've been trying to get into a routine and it's not making much difference, I was talking to my mum about it and she thinks I might have anemia like other people have said because when I eat I don't eat a lot and stuff

My sister recently found out she was anemic so has been proscribed iron vitamins and been told what food is best to eat for iron. I just thought I'd check through the posts to make sure someone hadn't already suggested this. :P

So yeh just try going on a binge of foods that contain loads of iron to see if it makes a difference after say a week, obviously you should have your a to zinc vitamins which also includes iron. If not you can probably cut out anemic from the equation.

Don't Binge on it I'm anaemic and my doctor says that you should introduce it into your diet and have a more healthier diet. I Hate being anaemic I'm almost always tired and i always feel faint. You shouldn't binge on it because it can damage your body just change the meats you eat go for red meats instead of things like sausages and stuff.
I was first said to be anaemic since i was 7 Then this year i fainted out of the blue and went to the doctors for a blood test. so if you do think your anaemic go to your doctors and get a blood test.

well the not eating thing is probably whats causing your drowsiness, you have no energy. dont do energy drinks btw those will make you wired for like 2 or 3 hours maybe and then just make you crash afterwords. do coffee or tea for caffeine, it wont put you out after a while.

All I know is that green vegetable have a lot of iron in them and I don't like any ;l

well then ya gotta decide whats more important to you then i guess, avoiding everything healthy or having energy. unfortunately theres not that many "delicious" foods with a lot of iron, unless you wanna eat a bunch of pizza.

I've started to drink a lot more tea than I used to, but i'll lay off the fizzy drink and your probably right about the drowsiness!
