View Full Version : Just wondering (video cards)

When I purchased my pc it said it had 512mb of RAM, but when I do "can you run it" it says I have 3.2gb, I don't really understand this? :P

It's a geforce 310 (i dunno if thats any good or not :P).

Probs an intregated graphics card, 512MB of your actual RAM is shared with your GPU.

It's alright, but its intregated... thats the thing. not as good as if it was a dedicated card. Would be alright to run basic games.

the ATi (or rather AMD, seeing as its actually called the AMD Readeon 6870) 6870 got released today, its about £199 and its the replacement for the ATi 5770 (despite the previous one being the 5870), but its only about 7% slower then the 5870 so its worth it seeing as its about £80 cheaper than the 5870.
