Had to pop back to ask a question;
Right, scenario is I'm building a Flight Simulator - now what i've done in the past is used a tripplehead2go on one output for the views, and then another output for the "instruments" on one sigle display.

However, I'm wanting to venture into eyefinnity, but I'm unsure - would I be able to do the same setup of
3 x 1
1 x 1

and if so, what will I need (recomendations on graphics cards) and is it easy to setup?

Cheers
Luke

Best bet would be two graphics cards and connect two monitors to each,

I'd rather avoid doing that thoughh, cause the cost. I'll keep looking

Well, eyefinity is 3 monitors. You want 4. Tripple/dual head to go is expensive.

So, can i use two completley different cards or do they have to be the same?
cause I was thinking, using the 5850 for the simulator (the actual 3d game bit) then a lower one to display the instruments (which is just a few textures)?

EDIT: Decided to get the 6870, has two DP and two DVI ports

But can only output to 3 monitors at any given time ;).

And yes, you can use two different cards.

Not clicked the link but I do believe the 6870 can support 4 monitors at once, I keep hearing it in certain videos and what not.

Ok, it seems they may have added support for an extra monitor.

I was saying that because I know the eyefinity 5xxx series cards can only support up to 3 monitors - even the ones with four ports like mine. The could do 6 monitors if you had two displayports on the card and used daisy chain compatible monitors or used a displayport hub with normal montors, or used a special card with 6 display ports (has two hubs built in).

Basically, the 5 series eyefinity cards only generally support a maximum of three monitors in a normal configuration. Even the cards with 4 ports to connect monitors to like mine only support 3 connected monitors. That's why I was getting confused :).

I didn't know you could use all 4 ports simultaneously on the 6 series.

Ahh, fair shizzle. Shall be an interesting venture this one :L
First AMD, first i7, first DDR3, first eyefinity. hmm. (:

I use ATI Surroundview for 3 monitors, don't know if this helps lol.
