    Default ATi eyefinity

    Had to pop back to ask a question;
    Right, scenario is I'm building a Flight Simulator - now what i've done in the past is used a tripplehead2go on one output for the views, and then another output for the "instruments" on one sigle display.

    However, I'm wanting to venture into eyefinnity, but I'm unsure - would I be able to do the same setup of
    3 x 1
    1 x 1

    and if so, what will I need (recomendations on graphics cards) and is it easy to setup?

    Cheers
    Luke

    Best bet would be two graphics cards and connect two monitors to each,

    Well, eyefinity is 3 monitors. You want 4. Tripple/dual head to go is expensive.

    So, can i use two completley different cards or do they have to be the same?
    cause I was thinking, using the 5850 for the simulator (the actual 3d game bit) then a lower one to display the instruments (which is just a few textures)?

    EDIT: Decided to get the 6870, has two DP and two DVI ports

    But can only output to 3 monitors at any given time .

    And yes, you can use two different cards.

    I was saying that because I know the eyefinity 5xxx series cards can only support up to 3 monitors - even the ones with four ports like mine. The could do 6 monitors if you had two displayports on the card and used daisy chain compatible monitors or used a displayport hub with normal montors, or used a special card with 6 display ports (has two hubs built in).
