And christmas always seems to be the worse,
Right now i feel a little tired (i've been yawning all day)
im about to have a bath and take some sleep meds before bed.

Should have had an all-nighter the night before OTHERWISE LISTEN TO LULLABIES OR GET YOUR MUM TO READ YOU A BEDTIME STORY!

getting up early even if you've not slept a lot should help you get back in to routine
exercise early in the day too
don't eat within an hour or two before going
not so sure about getting sleep straight away but turning tv/laptop off at least half an hour before getting in bed?
i was gonna go sleep at 6am yesterday [today] but i was so tired from shopping i settled for 3.

Start a course of malarone and itll make you constantly tired... did for me
First have a nice relaxing bath, then read a book or listen to some music and that should get you tired.

OK last night I couldn't sleep so I was being experimental and imagined myself falling from the sky, being free. Then I started to get dizzy and rather light-headed (which was like a dream-like state).. then I dropped to sleep.
I'm odd, I know.

try sleeping tablets if you have any

Yeah, usually about 20 shots will do me fine for getting to sleep as well...
If you have a tv in your room i would suggest turning the light off, getting comfy and watching tv (quiet of course) and youll easily drift off.. Pitch.tv or JML worked wonders for me
you should find this link helpful :)

Firstly, if you have any then try taking sleeping pills. You could also try a night light because that usually works.

Haha! I agree, not sure what Pitch TV is but if yo mean JML as in the teleshopping, then I agree :L
Anything like price drop TV, Bid TV, or some channels that have gone off air (Nickolodeon), show teleshopping, which is were they try to sell those really really tacky and over expensive products e.g rainbow pens, magic scarfs etc.
Bid TV and stuff have a really soft tone and are normally selling like pillows and stuff at like midnight and 1am :L Sends me straight to sleep, teleshopping is just so tacky you have to fall asleep.
Yeah I'm with Deak on this one, sleeping tablets are sure to put you down even if you feel awake.
Although watching tv in the dark whilst lying in bed usually does the trick for me :)

Going out in the fresh air helps a lot especially just before you would normally go to bed a lot of parent's do that to their kids if they are really young.
