ive flicked through all the av channels and theyre all giving me a blank screen.

um its the on with 6 cables, all with different colours. on the website it says dont plug in the yellow one for hd tv but that made no difference.
the switch on the xbox cable is also on hdtv rather than tv, so i dont know what else to try :/

hiya, on the plug bit by the xbox you'll see a little switch, change it and see what happens. sometimes it accidently moves.

the two options are tv and hdtv, this happened to me a while back and baffled me.

hope this is the right thing! if not then im sorry, but i dont know. :(

Right the cable you're using is called YBPR i believe on you're TV get to the options where u can choose HDMI 1 HDMI2 Scart etc and you should see YbPR or something similar choose this option and hey presto should work!

You're probably better off buying a 'Microsoft Xbox 360 VGA Cable'.
It contains 1 VGA output and a red/white output to plug into monitors and/or tvs.

Was never keen on the 6 plug hd thing due to it not working with my psp at the time!

Another alternative is to only use the normal y/w/r input.

if you want it in HD get a HDMI cable.

Probably because you're using an AV cable on a device capable of producing high definition, you will need a HDMI cable to get the best graphics out of it, only if your TV is HDMI enabled.

Are all the images dark? It purely depends on the size and quality of the TV if you dont use a HDMI cable or alternative.

make sure your xbox has a HDMI output first, it should do if it's a new one - you can get them from any electrical store or even a supermarket, supermarket or online will be cheaper, mine was a tenner but it's 3metres long.

it's a bit smaller than the other one and will say HDMI next to it, I know certain older xbox's had HDMI outputs, I find HDMI is much better than using an AV cable.

I had this darker colour thing and it was cause my older tv only had like 50hz and i think you need atleast 60hz for it to run properly and you can get a hdmi for a couple of £ on ebay.

Do what a lot of people did, buy a HDMI cable.
I know they're only like $3AUD.

Once you've done this, setup your xbox through the settings.
Should be standard because it could have different settings as the over tv.
