So I was sitting there, and was wondering, what do I moan about now?

No, joking. But seriously:

I think the announcements for the hiring/dismissal/resignation of staff is far to robotic. It is always as if the staff are gone, so who cares?

I mean Roxy is now HxHD Manager. Considering everything she ahs put in to Habbox previously the announcement could have been more like 'We would like to welcome Roxy916 back to Habbox Management. She is now HxHD Manager. Congratulations and good luck, Roxy! :)'

Not exactly like that, just the first words that came in to my head. And when people resign who have been at Hx for so long it often just says 'Blah has resigned as Habbox Staff. We thank him/her for their time and wish them good luck in the future.'

Just a thought :)

Know what you mean. They should vary the announcements a bit - depending on the person and their history as staff etc.

well, from what i remember back years ago when i was a manager - no one actually told you how to announce things, you just kinda followed suit... and i guess it's gone on for years lol.

The congratulations + thank you forum is used for the more 'human' goodbyes/hellos imo :)
I think ben's (dogboy) mentioned this before

I try to make them more personal if the person has been in the department for a long length or time. If not just say they have resigned and thank them for their work.

But as Mike said, congrats and thank you's is more for this. If you have been in the department for a long time, you are sure to get a thread in there, where loads of people send a thank you. 9 times out of 10, someone posts a thread in there for every announcement.

But why can it not be posted by the Manager/(A)GM in the announcement forum? Looking robotic doesn't make things much more professional :P

I never said anything about professionalism. Tbh I really hate that word on an teenage online forum lol. The problem is 'length of time' can be subjective. If someone who's been there 3 weeks doesn't get as good a goodbye as someone who's been there longer, it just causes unnecessary problems. It's far easier to keep things the same for everyone and offer your own personal goodbye in the congratulations and thank you forum.

This really.

I know announcements look and nearly all the same apart from the role and the persons name, but they aren't suppose to be special announcements explaining they have been here for so long or they have returned or we thank them for everything and list it all and maybe say how fantastic they were and so on. That's where the congratulations & thanks forum comes into place and then we can let the person know what we think of them if needed.

The announcements forum is basically just a record of all staff, and just a quick summary of whats been happening in a department staffing wise over the last few days. So it makes more sense to keep these as quick and concise as possible for ease. Then thank you's can be made in the correct forum.

It doesn't really tickle my pickle, it doesn't bother me but I can see why it might bother others and I can see why management stick to the routine.

I disagree. I like to think of the Habbox Announcements section as a log rather than a thank you section. Once you start thanking individuals, favourtism will undoubtably show through and people will get heated about that too. Imagine what Alex3213 would feel like when I get thanked way more than him, etc... :)!!

Agreed here. and YOU'RE SO MODEST. Unless there's a promotion for certain work, is it even necessary to have extra detail?

I know you didn't, but I could see any other reason for not personalising them a little :P Perhaps even 'Blah has been with us since 00/0000'

Also, no matter how normal you make them users still get their knickers in a twist over it :L Just look at a certain ex DJ, who I think is a dj again now lol

This is why I'd disagree, as it's been said announcements really are a record and anybody who wishes to share a more meaningful comment can do it in congrats/thankyous. Knowing this place it's guarunteed to cause arguments :P

Also I think it would be a bit unfair for a staff member to have more things said than another ect.

like others have said, the thread's are merely announcing a change or an event, if people wanna go into more detail there is a forum for that.
it would be unfair (as previously mentioned) when someone who's been here for ages gets this massive thread and then a new staff member gets a few words, i think a uniform system looks far better.

I think it's sort of a part of Habbox tradition to do a sort of formal announcement as managers do for staff.

This is exactly why when I was management if people like you returned I would say something beyond robotic. I think I was the only person to do such announcements at the time:

I think it would be possible to vary the structure of the sentence but I disagree with the history and blah blah blah of it due to someone getting more thanks than another = BIG TROUBLEZ. Most management reply in the Congrats & Thank you's anyway just to give their thanks and tell the 'resignee' (lol that's not the word but I can't remember it :() what they've accomplished.
