    Default Robotic Announcements

So I was sitting there, and was wondering, what do I moan about now?

    No, joking. But seriously:

I think the announcements for the hiring/dismissal/resignation of staff is far to robotic. It is always as if the staff are gone, so who cares?

I mean Roxy is now HxHD Manager. Considering everything she ahs put in to Habbox previously the announcement could have been more like 'We would like to welcome Roxy916 back to Habbox Management. She is now HxHD Manager. Congratulations and good luck, Roxy! '

Not exactly like that, just the first words that came in to my head. And when people resign who have been at Hx for so long it often just says 'Blah has resigned as Habbox Staff. We thank him/her for their time and wish them good luck in the future.'

    Just a thought

Know what you mean. They should vary the announcements a bit - depending on the person and their history as staff etc.

The congratulations + thank you forum is used for the more 'human' goodbyes/hellos imo
I think ben's (dogboy) mentioned this before

I try to make them more personal if the person has been in the department for a long length or time. If not just say they have resigned and thank them for their work.

But as Mike said, congrats and thank you's is more for this. If you have been in the department for a long time, you are sure to get a thread in there, where loads of people send a thank you. 9 times out of 10, someone posts a thread in there for every announcement.

But why can it not be posted by the Manager/(A)GM in the announcement forum? Looking robotic doesn't make things much more professional

I never said anything about professionalism. Tbh I really hate that word on an teenage online forum lol. The problem is 'length of time' can be subjective. If someone who's been there 3 weeks doesn't get as good a goodbye as someone who's been there longer, it just causes unnecessary problems. It's far easier to keep things the same for everyone and offer your own personal goodbye in the congratulations and thank you forum.

    This really.

I know announcements look and nearly all the same apart from the role and the persons name, but they aren't suppose to be special announcements explaining they have been here for so long or they have returned or we thank them for everything and list it all and maybe say how fantastic they were and so on. That's where the congratulations & thanks forum comes into place and then we can let the person know what we think of them if needed.

The announcements forum is basically just a record of all staff, and just a quick summary of whats been happening in a department staffing wise over the last few days. So it makes more sense to keep these as quick and concise as possible for ease. Then thank you's can be made in the correct forum.

It doesn't really tickle my pickle, it doesn't bother me but I can see why it might bother others and I can see why management stick to the routine.
