I've found in recent times that speedtests have been fairly unhelpful, I'd be getting low dl speeds yet I run a torrent and the connection would be maxed. Having said that I got a reasonable result today.

Senior Virgin Engineer coming out on Thursday after the normal one could do naff' all about it. Expecting a line pull, and more then likely a new cab is needed, I can't be the only one who is like this on my street, probably the only one to kick up a fuss.

Was downgraded from EURO DOCSIS to just DOCSIS on the Legacy Hardware, not even got a superhub yet, some 50MB internet this is, Oh I feel sorry for the engineer already.

Also local SNR issues, oh the joy of VM.

have you contacted VM about it yet? it can be as simple as a signal needing boosting from your area's cable box. Happened to me not long after the speed double where the engineers must have done a bit of a botched job.

Technically it ain't a dedicated server and also all my internet goes through it on a switch port so yeah.. My Virgin Media connection is 100mb/s split 5 ways to 20mb/s per Pc to create a fair environment for my family.
All my data travels through 2 main servers (Luxembourg -> Switzerland), to stop a major amount of load on my connection if I'm doing downloading or something similar.

Yes, indeed but this is more a route where the file is downloaded to one of those locations and then it downloads to my computer so I have the file, and I am able to listen/watch/view the file but it can also be forwarded to my own computer if I wish, it just makes things faster. If I don't need the file it can be downloaded at a rate of up to 1Gbps and deleted or forwarded if I wish. :p

Pretty much a backup system that works in reverse (hey ho what can you do with spare servers).

How do you contact them and when you're on the phone what do you say to get it done early?

On 60mb broadband and had letters and on the my.virginmedia.com page saying it will be upgraded at the end of April.

just ask for it to be upgraded early, if they dont do it then just keep asking to be put through to retentions and they'll do it + give you a discount for 18months if you renew contract for 12months.
