There's been a lot of outrage, if you like, recently when people regard Christmas as the Holiday Season and instead of Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays is becoming more of the "done" thing.
I'm just looking for your opinions basically. Are you offended by the "politically correct" way of wishing somebody a merry old time around December? Do you not really mind?
Just to add, the reason people are using "Happy Holidays" and "Merry Xmas" is because we have to be "welcoming" to those who are not originally from this country and have to be equal to all.
Thanks guys:)

I use Merry Christmas because being British, I live in the United Kingdom which is a protestant christian country (despite the wishes of the cultural revolutionaries who push political correctness) which in turn means Christmas is important to the people of this nation. We can beat political correctness if we just ignore it and activity go against it, even if its small things such as saying 'Merry Christmas' instead of 'Happy Winterval' etc.
A very Merry Christmas to all.

Happy Holidays is the more generic term for the US isn't it?
I still say 'Merry Christmas' (rarely...) , I don't think there's that much 'drama' over what you should be saying. All are fine imo.

I'm from the US, and they are starting to completely change things the way it used to be.. We can't say Merry Christmas anymore because it's not "Politically correct" But i still say it because its what i grew up with. I heard they're starting to change the name From Christmas Tree to Holiday Tree or Family tree so its politically correct. It's just... wrong in my opinion. It's not a huge deal, but theres no reason why you should rename a xmas tree a holiday tree or snap at people when you're being nice by saying Merry Christmas.

I don't really see that many people here in the UK saying Happy Holidays nor would saying 'Merry Christmas' be regarded as not being politically correct. Must people are accepting that they live in the UK and need to follow the culture of this country.
Everyone gets involved in the Christmas cheer, whatever their religion quite honestly. :P
blurghhhh I saw loads of people raging about this on Facebook, Facebook's like gullible land. Someone put on there "The government says we have to call it happy holidays, so a MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL" ... words to that affect. I've never heard or seen anyone say Happy Holidays apart from in the US sooo.... it has and will always be merry christmas to me but i don't mind if other people say happy holidays...

I always thought Happy Holidays meant New Year and Christmas. As a sort of pair.
I've never said Happy Holidays, I think I'll always be saying Merry Christmas to be honest. I haven't heard anyone say Happy Holiday's either. :P
Merry Christmas...
Americans say "Happy Holidays"

i hate it when people say happy christmas
ITS MERRY CHRISTMAS U ******S
This is one of those things what should always be Merry christmas, politically correct or not.
i don't really care what other people do it's xmas to me, and will always be called xmas. if other people wanna say happy holidays, thats up to them, not gonna start to argue you over simply words though. personal thing innit.
What on earth, despite allthe commercialisation and what not,it is meant to be to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ so they can sod their happy holidays and political correctness cos I will continue to say christmas.

Happy Day will be the next Birthday greeting.
Let me see Jewish people saying Happy Holidays when Hanukkah comes around...
People take words far to seriously, I think I might go commit myself to marriage the next time someone says hello.

Happy Festivus is the way to go..
I don't see why people should be bothered about political correctness, the only thing Christmas has to do with Christianity is nativity and the "christ" bit, other than that things like presents come from St Nick, santa claus from Coca-cola/America raping St Nick etc.

alright guys, i really want opinions here.
my teacher has happy hanukkah and happy holidays posters posted around the entire room.
there is not one "merry christmas!" poster to be found in the entire class.
do you guys think it's wrong that there is no "merry christmas" but just happy hanukkah and happy holidays?
half my friends say that "happy holidays" means all holidays, but why would happy hannukah be hanging up if it was already covered?
idk, what do you guys think?
i think that there should be a merry christmas up there aswell, as there's only 2 jewish kids in the entire school.

The thing is guys, Christmas is like one of the only things left that make our country what it is.
You can go on about being a culture-friendly society, but as soon as we lose "Merry Christmas", what's left for us and our pride, really?
