when i have the hiccups I hold my breath for 2 minutes and they just go, if that doesnt work another way i to pull your head back and drink water that get rid of mine aswell haha

'Hiccups occur when your diaphragm (the thin layer of muscle that separates your chest cavity from your abdomen) suddenly and involuntarily contracts (tightens). As your diaphragm contracts, it causes you to breathe in air very quickly. The incoming air is stopped when your glottis (the opening between your vocal cords) closes suddenly, producing the characteristic sound of a hiccup.'

People usually scare me and it does seem to work. I rarely get them, but when I do they hurt so much. :(

If you're eating too much or too fast, or laughed a lot then you'll get hiccups. These are just some normal factors. I usually calm down, drink some water, take a deep breath and relax. There are other home remedies as well. If it doesn't work then i just don't care lol.

That is a bit brilliant and a bit crazy at the same time. I am amused! Will note that for future use.

Last Friday I started with hiccups at about 10:30am, didn't get rid of them until about 12:00pm I didn't do anything so I suggest having a drink as I think you should do the opposite to me as if they had continued I was going to ask my ICT teacher if I could get a drink.

I always get hiccups during my exams, which is fun..

What I do is I kind of ram myself about halfways down my ribs, inbetween them, with a pen or something. (Obviously not hard enough to cause any pain). This seems to make them go away.
