It's a tough path either way, either face Italy and then presumably Germany, or Spain and winner of Czech Rep/Portugal. Would prefer the first though.

The guy is an absolute ******* moron, and the whole of the footballing community would be better without him. He really does amaze me at how biased he can be(I don't support england), but there have been a few cases where he said goal line technology isn't needed, where England had scored(Lampard v Germany), yet as soon as anything goes their way(Ukraines goal - http://youtu.be/XJnLSVYY8XI?t=12s ) it becomes a necessity.

Goal line technology should have been tested and in place fully by now in my opinion. I'm sure that when in place it will be easy to figure out if a ball has gone over the line or not & can change games should a goal be given or not given.

Lampard v Germany would have made it 2-2 & then anything could have happend
last nights not given goal would have made it 1-1 and that could have led to Ukraine winning

There have been many more incidents like this and they should be a plan to sort out these problems.

I'm not for any other technology as for if it should be a throw in / corner / offside / penalty decision as they are always going to be part of the game & decisions go for you and sometimes they dont.

I totally agree with the posts above. They are there to help with big decisions like those last night. They are supposed to be the ones with the best views of the penalty box.

He did look as if he was in position to see the ball cross the line, but obviously he's not good enough at his job to see this <- get him demoted and away from the Euro's.

If you were stood there you would see how hard it is to judge in that moment whether it had crossed the line. It was only marginal, not lik the Lampard on in SA and in those situations he has to be 100% sure and the BOTD is given to the defenses, as it should be in penalties too.

Let's think about it; 1 Referee, 2 Linesmen, 4 'other' officials(who can alert the ref about anything)[2 of which were behind the goal, level with the goal line]. They didn't see it.
40,000 Ukrainian fans, commentators(even the biased English ones), photographers, cameras, substitutes(who were warming up on the side line), saw it cross the line.
The offside was a lot harder to call, the ukrainian defender was pretty much on the edge of his box, and the striker was on the centre circle, in the england half. By the time the ball had been struck, he was offside - by the time the ball came into the linesman view(bare in mind, a linesmans job is to follow the last man and not watch the ball), he was onside, as Lescott ran behind the man.

Take off your rose tinted spectacles for just a minute, and open your eyes. Any football fan in the world could see it was a goal - the same as we all saw lampards etc, so don't try and defend the 'officials' who have been poor the whole tournament(you only have to look at the opening game to see that). I genuinely would love to have seen your reaction had it of been an English goal struck off.

He wasn't "skeptical" or "hesitant" about it, the guy has a vendetta against England(and that's coming from a neutral). Like I said in an earlier post - after Lampards goal against Germany, he said it wasn't needed[this was a decision given AGAINST England]. When Devic's goal against England was struck off, he said it is a necessity and must be introduced[this was a decision FOR Engand]. Sepp Blatter is an absolute ******* clown, who deserves to be no where near football, let alone the president of FIFA. He's one of the most controversial and biased men in football.

Secondly i'm not wearing rose tinted glasses, i'm being realistic, the officials aren't going to get everything and now we have to introduce the technology to improve that. So far 95% of decisions have been made correct at the Euro's. Obviously some have more significance than others but as a raw stat that's impressive.

I was upset Lampard's goal didn't get allowed, however I wasn't angry, probably because I didn't hold a hope in hell that we were going to get through anyway so it wasn't for refereeing reasons.

What was with the substitutes? Welbeck and Milner off, why didn't he take Rooney and Ashley Young off since they wern't doing anywhere near as good. And putting Henderson when we had the likes of Defoe and Ox on the bench blew me away. We should know by now waiting for penalties is never a good idea, I was hoping we could at least snatch a goal on the counter attack.

Well before this game started I thought it would be Spain 2-1 Portugal, but the way its been the first half I could be wrong.

Completely but also I don't like him as a player, I think it's too much too soon when he hasn't really been a legend yet? Like I really like Kompany and Hart's passion but it's channeled in the right way.

Yeah I think with Man being manager at City it's helping him a bit but he does still lose it. I hope for his sake he is always under a manager that can control him as best as possible because otherwise he will end up like Joey Barton.
