In 2008 (for Valentine's Day) a special version of Marmite was released which had a "hint" of Champagne in it. Has anyone ever tried this aha? Our Business Studies teacher gave us all some to try and it tasted alright/normal at first... then the after taste was absolutely horrid. Never again. Funny thing is, it's only about 0.3% champagne but it really makes a diff. imo :S

Here's what it looks like:

Give it a go if you happen to stumble across it somehow... I think only 6 million (or 600,000 I forget) were released and you can only really get it via the internet now. Has anyone here already tried it?

I want to see children and young teens try and get drunk off it. They'd have to go through about 50 jars to get any form of the effects of alcohol... or just an effect from the marmite eating away at them from the inside. Either one :P

LMFAO. I'd genuinely pay to see that, it'd be absolutely brilliant.

Omg...

Oh actually, I'm not quite sure what it's made from. It is a spread, you usually put it on toast or in sandwiches :P

Marmite is made from yeast extract (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeast_extract), a by-product (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/By-product) of beer brewing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brewing).
The British version of the product is a sticky, dark brown paste with a distinctive, powerful flavour, which is extremely salty

I've never found it that salty tbh? Certainly powerful but not... "salty powerful" :S. Oh Samanfa; as well for the flavour bit^

So... it tastes salty? What does it actually taste like, any similar taste? & I know a lot of people have it with toast, so is it an alternative to nutella/honey etc? BASICALLY WHAT DO YOU EAT IT WITH :l

It's quite salty actually but not mega salty imo, that's all I can really describe lmao!!! It's only eaten with bread items really, it is an alternative to nutella/honey on toast/bread I suppose :P

I have got such a craving for it now.

Its just a spread. My sister has it on toast, crackers biscuits stuff like that.

My dad also makes gravy with it (he makes his own gravy) and it adds a nice flavour to it.

I hate marmite though, except in the gravy ^ lol.

Urgh... sounds disgusting, I think I had marmite flavoured crisps one time and nearly vomited through my nose and ears it was that disgusting.

Did you? Oh. The last conversation I had with you was you trying to convince me to write a news article that I was too lazy to do. You won in the end. And I've been standing/walking around for seven hours straight, with a bit of cycling at the beginning and end (new job).

OT: Eating marmite is like drinking sea water.
