The Kinect is technologically superior so if they were both the same cost then the Kinect is a WAAAYYY better deal. However there are a few issues with that thinking

The Kinect is always bundled.
We have not seen any PS4 + Eye bundle SKUs yet.
The PS4 Eye is cheaper than the difference between the Xbone and the PS4. (£45 vs £80)

Wasn't the recent news that Sony did plan on including it with the PS4 but decided not to so the price would be less than the Xbox. It was never mentioned publicly that it was going to be included as it was a decision made before E3.

Yea they removed the camera to make the price cheaper, all i know is the camera would be able to tel if you switched seats and would flip the split screen for you. Haven't looked into the camera yet.

Microsoft are criticized for the always online thing and used game charges. So what do they do?

Yeah I agree that they made poor decisions but with some people it seems to be that microsoft is criticized when they implement something and then are criticized when they remove it :P

I am criticizing Microsoft. They aren't changing there policies for the right reasons, they were being slaughtered in pre-orders and that is why they made the DRM/Always online reversal.

They then said indie devs need a publisher to release games, because indie devs in turn said they would not release games on the X180. They didn't change there policy because it was the right thing to do it was because Ps4 was getting all the indie devs and then it becomes a selling point for the Ps4 like they showed at E3.

Major Nelson is quoted saying
"We can’t just flip a switch to turn off DRM. The console was built around it"
And they clearly "flipped a switch"

Then you have Phil Spencer..
"We have a product for people who can't access the internet, It's called Xbox 360"

And after that goof up and announcing the changes they say on there 180 announcement.
"Since unveiling our plans for Xbox One, my team and I have heard directly from many of you, read your comments and listened to your feedback"
They made out they were listening to the fans and customers when in reality they were trying to gain some self respect back from there poor performance since announcement since they were being slaughtered.

Sony has been doing a great job with the Ps4 and selling it to the customers. Was the topic of discussion today at work and currently Ps4 leads the way with 8/1 and the 1 is considering switching to play with us. and 2 people undecided.

Ps4. I liked the TV and Skype stuff on xbox and I thought it had a great line-up, However I no longer trust microsoft with my Data due to Skype giving information to the NSA and therefore going to PS4. A lot of my mates are getting a PS4 so it makes sense for me. Only thing I'll be missing out on will be Forza, but that's going to be ruined since it was built around the always on idea. Don't get me wrong, I have no issue with always on sicne I am always online. I just don't trust Microsoft just yet. I will however probably end up getting both anyway.

" its definitely not out of the question " from one of Titanfall devs regarding a Ps4 release. If its a hit expect it to come to Ps4 soon after, Microsoft doesn't have exclusivity on it at the most its only a timed one. Just like i see Dead Rising 3 being released on Ps4 at some point.

And just because the hardware is there doesn't mean the devs will use it. Kinect for example, Just because its now built in doesn't mean people will still use it for there games. If it turns out X180 users still prefer to use a controller and only use Kinect for non gaming features then devs aren't going to waste there time, effort, money and resources on something that nobody wants.

Honestly my favorite announcement of E3 was KH3 coming to the PS4 and the One, as well as Square's announcement that it was being developed specifically for the PS4 and the One version will be a port, the same with FF XV. Revenge for all the BS I went through with Skyrim on the PS3? I can only hope ;)

KH3 was the highlight for me as well, but the Xbox 180 release is pointless. I'm all for 3rd party devs to release there content on multi plats (screw you capcom with your Dead Rising 3) but they haven't had any of the games.

They were Ps2, and now the Ps3 is getting HD Collections with the portable spinoffs as movie/cutscenes meaning we get the whole story where as the 180 has had 0 Kingdom hearts games. If they were releasing the HD collections for the 360 as well then it would have made sense.

KH3 should be a PS4 exclusive and since its meant to finish off the current storyline, KH4 would be an ideal place to let X180 players join in. That or release the collections for 360. Stuff like Dead Rising going multi plat then back to exclusive and Bayonetta going Multi Plat then making the sequel for a console that didn't have the first game is stupid.

Playstation 4. In my eyes they have done everything right and they have not done anything wrong, compared to Microsoft and 180'ing everything. It's been a shambles since it was announced and they say one thing then do something different, they can;'t even stand by there product and give in to public outcry. And after a week or two of telling people no, and this is the vision and direction. They then said they had listened to there fans and where making the changes which was balls and they only made the decision because of the slaughtering that was happening, If the numbers were more close do you think Microsoft would have made these changes? No and you know that as well.

If they were "listening" to the fans then, Kinect wouldn't be mandatory, but of course they wouldn't do that.

I watched both Reveals and E3 and they had all that time to impress me and they failed, I have even admitted that couple of the games seemed interesting. You've used a bad example. Sure Playstation missed out on the first game but that was sorted when we got the Collection. Kingdom hearts so far has 6 games, Sure you could say 4 are spin offs but they are canon to the story. Now given the 1.5 Remix that is coming out next month and the 2.5 Remix that will come out next year for anyone who didn't play the 4 other games not on ps2 (RE:Chain of memories was never released in EU) gives them a chance to play and get all the story for the final game in the current storyline. Also in my quote i said

PS+ was put up as an optional service which a lot of people like myself jumped on to get a bunch of games for free each month, £30 a year for over £300 worth of stuff, i got my moneys worth within the first month. Sure it sucks for people to pay £30-40 a year to play online but when you add in all the stuff you get back in return i doubt anyone will complain. And if you don't play online anyway then you don't need it can still use all your services like netflix without a subscription, Unlike XBL. I know a lot of 360 users who were jealous of PS+, Like i stated before I'm not a fanboy, but keep calling me one if it makes you feel better.

*Up until Xbox 180 launch, Also I'll always have a PS+ subscription as it's a fantastic deal, and anyway once i complete a game or platinum it i don't need to play it again and if i do it won't be for a while. I bought PS+ when the only features were cloud storage, free games, discounts on the store. All the Ps4 does is add in the requirement to play online. Which isn't that big a deal when you look at the benefits you get from it and everything else the PS4 has to offer doesn't need a PS+ subscription. And i only payed £30 because i bought it when it was on offer which makes it even more worth while for me.

They are, rumour is they might have a kinect less bundle aswell to compete with Ps4 price.

Just because its included doesn't mean people will use it. So if people still don't use it then its wasted time, money and effort for the Devs. I don't care for a camera wouldn't mind a microphone.

Sure it was Socom on Ps2 that had a head set and you were able to give orders using voice recognition to soilders stuff like that impresses me more than waving your hands following a dance routine or playing bow + arrow mini game.

I've never been a big believer in Kinect as a gaming device, it's a complete waste of time, although the Kinect camera is probably one of the best video game peripherals ever made, it really sucks for video games, that could just be down the motion gaming being a complete waste of time though, given the option I'd certainly go for a Kinect free XB1.
Saying that, I think it's a mistake for Microsoft to change that, the Kinect has barely any games for the same reason PS Vita has barely any games, the market is too small, if everyone with XB1 had a Kinect always plugged in then it would give solid justification for developers to use it, now it's just going to fail the same way the original Kinect did.

Ah well, despite all Microsofts changes, I'd still rather buy the XB1 than a PS4.

I will be switching to PS4 due to the fact they will have more games hopefully better service. Microsoft tried to make people play first hand games and have their consoles online 24 hours... Do they even care about the customers? They don't listen to opinions they only changed it to save their company from loosing money.

- My xbox live is gonna renew in early november.. I don't really want to have to buy PS+ on top of that

True, but the vast majority will do this. Certainly I think ties have grown stronger for this generation than they were for the last.

Just by talking with people at work, most people are going with Ps4 due to being with Ps>2>3 other were put of with the 180 and 1 person it was due to price which was the deciding factor.

Before Southe, tries to berate me for going for the xbox, here are my reasons:

- I prefer the controller - I disagree but peoples hands are different.
- The free fifa 14 means that if I was to buy the ps4 and fifa 14 I'd only be paying a tiny bit less.. and on top of that I'm getting the kinect as well (not that I'll use it much but still) I hate Fifa and see it as a cheap bribe to try get people to preorder but if you like Fifa it's worked out rather well for you.
- Similarly to above, I probably play fifa more than any other game. Also FUT14 will have exclusive content on the xbox which is a bonus Same as above, Looks like it works out good for you.
- I like the exclusives (halo, forza etc) Played 1st 2 halos and hate car games, much prefer PS exclusives, but your opinion.
- My xbox live is gonna renew in early november.. I don't really want to have to buy PS+ on top of that No idea about XBL but £40 a year or £30 when its on offer also a deal on atm for £40 and 3 months free and with all the free games more than covers the cost so i see it as an investment but if your not going to be playing the games and busy with Fifa then no point.
- I'll keep my gamerscore rather than starting from scratch on the playstation (I'm not really into buying both an xbox and a playstation, never have) Agreed. Even when i got my 360 i wasn't bothered with Gamerscore like i am with Trophies

and to be honest, aside from the price (which doesn't bother me as with the free fifa 14 the xbox is only marginally more expensive as I said) I don't really see any bonuses of the PS4 which I really care too much about..
Up to you an have fun with your Fifa and 180.

I've never had a playstation but always had an xbox since the first one came out, so I suppose its just what I'm used to

It was amazing D: and as good as crash is AE > Crash in my opinion. And i doubt activision will sell off crash for a reasonable price.
