What are you planning on doing for bonfire night?

Does your local area hold an event and have a bonfire with fireworks etc?

My town had our annual bonfire last night, had a half hour fireworks display which I think cost like £8000 haha! The bonfire was bigger than usual made out of like 3000 pallets and almost burnt us to death, set fire to the grass which was hillarious. Had a pork bap, was yum!

it'll be my first time being around a bonfire night so am hoping it'll be fab! don't really know what happens round here, so i'm gonna have to look into it. my best friend from ireland is coming over though on the wednesday, so i'd imagine we'll be going out or something too :)

well it really doesnt interest me, plus work the next day, but the football club literally a second down the road always has one, so if I did actually want to I could watch that from my window.

Do Ireland not do bonfire night?

I'm sure fireworks are illegal iirc but thought your councils would do something

We have a few local places holding firework displays each weekend for 3 weeks starting yesterday.

I'll be going for a bike ride during the day and going with a friend to watch one of the displays at the seafront next Saturday.
Then we're camping out in the evening and returning home on Sunday afternoon after lunch. :)

Nothing. I have a gun shy dog who practically wets herself every time a firework is set off or there's a roll of thunder so I have to stay in to look after her anyway. And it's my grandmother's birthday so we're gonna stay in and have steak & chips to celebrate :D Then my mum and grandma are going out on thursday to visit my dad and see the firework's being held at his place. I'll stay at home to look after the dog because I'm not really that fussed about fireworks anyway.

I really don't like Bonfire Night, I'll only enjoy watching if I know I'm safe and when I've been to my cousin's where they're trying to outdo each other down the street you start to dislike it. A firework went the wrong way and sparks came into the house and banged/sparked right near me when I was walking.

I'll probably just be at home going to bed early as I'm off to Blackpool on Thursday. Around here people have mischief night, so fireworks in letterboxes, egging houses etc. our letter box will be cello taped - I'm working 4pm-8pm though so that will be dreadful.

The rugby club usually have theirs, and a pub near us also have one too.

Bonfire night is quite big within my family so I am going to surprise them on bonfire night by going home to join our family fireworks. I haven't seen them in a while. They are so bad, it's funny.

I miss bonfire night. They don't have it here but there would be a number of firework displays in my village on bonfire night.

Sounds fun, that's like what we used to do when I was younger, one time a child nearly got hit by a firework cause the rocket fell over lol.. Then one year some guy smacked himself in the face with a spade... Always something eventful happening.

Then my auntie moved and we didn't have a massive field to set up a bonfire etc in :(

Haven't done anything for it for years. We have a big celebration at a local rugby club, but I've never actually been.
