How much do you lie?

How much do you notice yourself lying? Is it just to get out of things or are you trying to impress others? Do you even notice you're doing it most of the time?

I read an interestingish article aaaages ago on some guy who gave up all lying (from like "yeah sure I went to see that film" to "no i didn't kill your brother how could you say that"... well, not quite but it's too early to think of good examples) to see what would happen. He found it really difficult to begin with but apparently it got easier and easier and made his life easier in the long run.

I don't like lying anymore so try to be as honest as possible whenever I can. Bend the truth a little if soneones's feelings are concerned and the full truth would upset them and lie to get out of things I can't be arsed to do - like soz I have Ebola I can't come rather than soz I cba to come

I don't normally lie in what would be a bad way, if I do it would normally have a good reason or a good outcome for it (probably).

I may also tell the the truth at times but bend it a little for whatever reason if needed - for example someone might not actually believe the truth when it is the truth, so I might tell it with a few bends here and there to make what is actually the truth more believable.

Am I the only person who's going to admit to lying quite a lot? I'm actually really good at lying to people because I have a lot of things I want to hide from people. Lying is like a second nature to me now at school but it's not malicious or anything; I just don't like to tell people about my home life. I find it particularly easy to lie because I'm good at mixing the truth with the lie so 1) I can remember it easily if someone brings it up again and 2) it sounds completely truthful.

I am literally getting that tattooed on my hand tomorrow, no lie.

And I used to be a lying little ******* when I was younger, but I really don't tell lies anymore. Not since I was like 17-18. My memory is far too shocking, and it would eat away at me knowing that I had lied to somebody. Leaving some of the truth out of a story is a whole different ball game though.

Honesty has screwed me from time to time, but being an honest person is far more important to me.

I don't tell complete lies at all, haven't done since I promised myself 4 years ago I'd never tell a lie again. However, small white lies and slight exaggerations of the truth happen every so often, I can't really pinpoint a time frame though!
