My Spanish 2 teacher and I don't mix very well. I never truly liked her class nor do the people who want to learn Spanish either.
Moral of the Thread: My Spanish teacher called me out when she said "Class you do know there is only like one person in this class room who wants to learn and it's Tay." She then asks me "Tay Don't you want to learn" *with a quiet voice yes. * BOY DID I get Yelled at and had comments on for just trying to learn. I guess in High School it's bad to say you want to learn and get called on about that. (I hate being called the nerd)

Happened a lot of times, try to get along with her the best you can, will be hard but at the end, she is the teacher and can make your days a beauty or a living hell.
Let me know if you need help with any homework ^^
I seem to remember that it only happened if I did something good or well. Like "oh matt's was really good" or something like that.
Only exception was my Year 12 English teacher would openly say whether or not our essays were crap, and he'd tell you that your handwriting was like a 12 year olds and if he fell asleep whilst reading it ;/ Safe to say no one liked him.
I also got called out in primary school for passing notes and the note had the name of the person I liked on it and she left it on her desk whilst she left the room, BUT that's another story..!

Ummm the times this has happened that I can REALLY remember is in science my teacher told me off infront of everyone for 'copying' someone else hw, but the other person didn't get told off, even tho surely how can you tell who copied who ;l (i didn't even copy, we did the hw together so ofcourse it would be similar ;) )
Also, in English me and a friend in like year 7 were writing notes to eachother and the teacher grabbed them off the table and read them out to everyone, it was so embarrassing cos we were on about who we liked and stuff hahaha dies.

I was (still am tbh :() a total nerd all throughout secondary school so the only time I ever got "called out" was when I'd asked my teacher if I could leave two minutes before the end of the lesson because I really needed the toilet and we didn't have any time between classes to go from one room to the next.
Well then she dragged me up to the front of the class and started saying stuff like "THIS is what a good student looks like, everyone. Take a good look because it's clear that none of you want to learn as much as she does and this will all be reflected in your upcoming reports!" :$ I can tell you right now all my peers loved me at school.

happens all the times but he then realizes he is a very stupid person for doing so then just shuts up
Yeah of course. I was called the teachers pet and nerd throughout school and then laughed when they failed their A levels and I went to Uni :)

i remember in gcse art my the head of art once came into our classroom and looked in everyone's sketchbooks then when he got to my desk he lifted it up so everyone could see, flicked through every single page for everyone and started comparing everyone's work to mine telling them how they should follow my example  but my current french teacher won't stop calling me out for all of the slightest things i do wrong and it's so annoying when they're calling you out in attempt to humiliate you :(

In high school the teachers would call me out as an example of a good student especially in year 11 maths because it was the easiest maths so everyone didn't really want to be there but I was the best. And I was often that kid who sat up the front of the class and if someone was disruptive the teacher would threaten them with being moved up the front with me.
In grade 6 though my teacher used to always tell me off for my poor presentation skills for assignments and stuff. A couple of times she held up my assignment in front of everyone and commented on how it wasn't presented as nicely as others which made me so self-conscious.

I don't get why teachers do that, it does not help a student improve to humiliate him in front of the class room, that just leads to bullying and a low self steam of the student also this will create a lack of interest into that class. If you want your students to improve his/her work, then you need to talk alone with him, explain what he did wrong, what can be improved and suggest ways to do so. Then follow his work to see the improvement.

Err I can only think of a really recent example when my philos teacher asked if she could read out my essay in front of the whole class as it was the best one but yeah i wasn't really phased about that.
I find it annoying when teachers like focus on a particular student to answer 1 question even if they say they don't know the answer - if they say they don't know twice, then genuinely don't know and it's very unfair to keep making an example of them over the same question they have clearly not got the answer to.

I can only think of a substitute teacher in year 8 I believe. She left her bag in another room, and she came up to me and asked me to get it because I was a "good boy". Shortly before this she was accused of hitting a student so maybe that was somehow related.

If you keep getting called out, you're clearly disturbing their lesson. Not being done to humiliate you.

not really lol
when I was 7, I had a spelling test and got this one wrong and then also got it wrong in the retest so she called me out in front of the whole class and embarrassed me. She hadnt bothered checking my spelling book and the reason I kept getting it wrong was because I had copied it down wrong in the first place. My mum and other parents complained and she was let go!!
Then my gcse history teacher made a whole drama for me not having my gcse cw in when I had just lost like 3 grandparents within weeks. He knew this as well. I walked out!!

never really been called out to be honest
I've been lucky enough to have had nice teachers and I'm really shy so my mum tells them to leave me alone on parents' evening and stuff
so yeah they just let me sit at the back, they'd just ask me a question every now and then but other than that they leave me to it really
Call me old but I have no idea if "Has your teacher ever called you out?" is positive or negative. Made an example of in class because you were naughty? or the class being told that you're the greatest because you work hard or something?
Initially I thought it was about fighting lol - calling me out bro!

A literature teacher, the second day of class, asked a question about Hamlet. I raised my hand and answered. She said, "No, didn't you real the book? Are you dumb?"
Someone else raised their hand and said the exact thing and got praised for answering correctly.
It wasn't just my interpretation of it, either; multiple people came to me after class and told me that she was way out of line and that it was really weird that she already hated me.

So funny kids blaming teachers b/c they were acting out. If you were embarrassed cause a teacher called you out... you clearly did it to yourself! Sorry aha.

Young people still deserve basic respect, just like anyone else. There's no need for some of the downright rude behavior of many teachers.

Most of the time it's justified when teachers call someone out, but not always. I myself was never been called out negatively, but I have witnessed others unfairly having this done when they hadn't done anything wrong, or times where teachers were just plain bullying and singling out someone who hasn't done anything at all.
I used to get moaned at for rolling my eyes really hard at my useless psychology teacher and I once lost all patience and asked DO YOU EVEN KNOW when she couldn't tell me what a standard deviation was, which she sent me out of class for. Man I was so unintentionally rude to her I hope she is doing well.
Problem is a lot of students are actually smarter than the staff that are teaching them, even at a young age! I know plenty of teachers - a few are exceptional don't get me wrong - a vast majority are mediocre but know the curriculum like the back of their hand. You usually find that when you enter a work environment - expecting all their processes to be nice and smooth and their business to run professionally but most are ran by normal people like us lol

I didn't say they didn't deserve respect x

My everyday life in English Class. If I don't answer exactly how the paper in front of her (with the answers) she will scold me. I have given up on trying to answer things in that class because all I get from her is her attitude and how wrong I am.
I have difficulty with writing essays and interpreting classical novels which is a real big negative for the class I'm taking, since everyone else is smarter than me I feel misplaced.

All the time. Me and my mate do it on purpose now we get so fed up. She gets annoyed because we both go to each other "fight me!"
