I love this game, someone put a lure on 2 things in Barnsley so there were like 10 of us (I didn't know them), but you could tell what we were all doing there lmao.

It's kinda crazy how big of a following this game has already - Yeah I know Pokemon has always been popular but you don't normally to get to see or hear people playing it. I was on my way home from work and have to go through Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester which is always a busy place. There was like at least 4/5 pokestops which had lures on as well. Then when you are walking around getting these and grabbing pokemon you can see other people playing it as well.

Then on the bus, I heard 2 guys talking about it as well. Then all 3 of us were trying to grab this Pokemon on the journey home. It was great!

Has anyone else had an egg go missing once they have nearly completed it? Basically I was doing a 5km one and I was something like 4.8km so I was getting pretty close. So I left the app running and walking with the phone in my hand and got to the work office. I checked the app and the eggs section and it's gone missing.

So I assume this is a bug or I'm I being stupid here?

Update: If this ever happens to you, sort your Pokemon by "Recent" and see if there's a Pokemon you haven't recently caught by using Pokeballs. I did this after reading a reddit thread on the same issue as above and noticed I now have a Rhyhorn.

Have you tried restarting the devices? Honestly never had this problem before. Try and search on an Apple Forum like macrumours or something.

Yeah just do a backup, reset the phone. Set it up as a new phone then restore the backup. Should hopefully fix it

Get the Ingress app (it's the same game but without Pokemon so it never got as popular) and then once you've got an account on it you can use https://www.ingress.com/intel to see where Pokéstops and gyms are around you - they pretty much use the same landscape features on both games so near enough every dot on there is a site

It would be nice if it talked into say Healthkit on iOS so it could take the steps from there and even maybe the Apple Watch. Then do that for whatever the alternative is on Android. But I guess this was the easiest approach for it to work on multiple devices.

Unfortunately they never did anything like that with Ingress, but hopefully the popularity pushes them towards partnering with fitness providers such as FitBit etc.

As it stands it looks like the only way to make sure it's always recording your progress is to buy one of their watches

I don't believe that is what those devices do, I think you still need your phone and the only purpose is that it vibrates/flashes when a pokemon or pokestop is nearby and you press it and it just throws a pokeball at it if you have one. I don't think it does step counting.

If you rename your Eevee you can choose what it turns into.

'Pyro' is Flareon, 'Sparky' is Jolteon and 'Rainer' is Vaporeon.

It would be nice if it talked into say Healthkit on iOS so it could take the steps from there and even maybe the Apple Watch. Then do that for whatever the alternative is on Android. But I guess this was the easiest approach for it to work on multiple devices.

That would be good. Android has Google Fit which works in much the same way I imagine. Maybe it'll happen in the future though

You get some when levelling up, so if you're lazy and don't go out then make sure you evolve and catch Pokémon to try get more. I got some Great Balls too when I got to level 12.

I've only managed to get 1 10km egg and it was an Onix. I'm running out of eggs though as the nearest Pokestop is around half a mile away and I'd have to walk into town.

Even in the lower ones that can be quite rare, I haven't even had any charmanders or any starter pokemon from the 2km eggs.

Same to be honest, but you do find occasional good ones. Last night a Parasect popped up, and someone put a lure on the old court house and somehow a Porygon came up (it's pretty rare as far as I know as it's one from the 5km eggs, which there's a lot you can get from them).

I managed to get enough Eevees to evolve one, decided to not give it a nickname and got Flareon, which I was happy about. Finally got a Meowth after every attempt before left them running away, and got a Poliwag.

Got Magikarps in all my eggs so I'm getting a bit closer to the Gyarados, also got another Porygon in an egg this time too :D!

I ran out of Pokeballs though so it was very difficult, had to go on a Pokestop spree.

Just spent the evening going around with a couple of people. It surprised me how many people were playing at 1am together.

Finally an alright Pokémon (Squirtle) spawned near me, I hurriedly got dressed and went to get it, I got it and began walking back... something goes in my shoe and sends pain immediately from my foot, it was bleeding a little bit and hurt like mad. It turned out to be a splinter, I got it out and now have another Squirtle... next time I probably won't go out to get the Pokémon, or wear better shoes at least!

There was a Cubone near work, but all my colleagues were outside so it would have been awkward subtly trying to get it :P.
