Your probably the only person I know who supports the Max OSX look :P I don't think Windows will change their popular GUI to copy a GUI which doesn't seem to be asked after, not by the majority at least.

omfg I hate how it doesn't actually shut down, it only hibernates.
Nope, go to Task Manager, then Performance. Check out where it says Up Time.
It's the same as it was with Windows 7, however long the computer has been active since it was last booted is its up time. Hibernating doesn't restart the counter, only a full shut down. :|
My counter: 1d:04h:55m:53s
tbh that explains why it's so fast.
You can go back to it shuts down fully and doesn't do that by the way. It is part of why Windows 8 boot up times are faster than previous Windows.
Quote:
Microsoft has designed its Windows 8 shutdown to close user sessions but hibernate the kernel session. This reduces the amount of data that hibernation mode needs to write to disk, making it faster to read and resume. Microsoft has tested the feature across a variety of systems and claims it’s 30-70% faster on most systems they have tested. “It’s faster because resuming the hibernated system session is comparatively less work than doing a full system initialization,” explains Aul.
Stupidly forgot to save passwords, now I don't have them :S
Hey, does SAM Broadcaster work for anyone else on Windows 8?
